CHILHOWEE SPORTING CLAYS

On a whim, decided to try our hand shooting some clays. Online, we found this place that turned out to be amazing and tucked into some great views. Everything thing was top notched and explained and we were even given some tips for better shooting success. Owners and staff were friendly, extremely knowledgeable, explained all aspects for safety and to just have a good time. We, brother in law and myself, did not know what to expect due to our extreme beginner experience, but were given tips and assisted on the shooting stations to improve our shots. Not gonna lie, this was insanely fun and challenging. The stations have a variety of challenges with the clays from speed, angle, and distance (difficult with how the wind was blowing as well). We even got to try our hand at one of the harder stations to finish up our last few shots that released from behind you going over your head. Let’s just say the harder stations were a bit out of our league currently, but, now, we just want to return and try our hand at the harder stations and better our shooting. You are able to rent the guns needed along with ammo and a golf cart. Score is kept on a score sheet for hits and misses. Using a dongle for the stations maintains your clay number electronically and payment is completed at the end calculating clays used. They offer a membership that provides discounts and other amenities as well. Think we scratched an itch seeking a fun and challenging experience where the difficulty varies but can even be enjoyed for novice clay shooters to the advanced. Thank you for an amazing experience. I have looked all over east TN and no where else can you find a more friendly, welcoming, professional, and honestly just amazing all around staff! they always make me and my friend who has been a member just as long as me feel welcome. the actual corse part is always well set up and well managed with targets for both new and experienced shooters and the sets are always changing keeping you on your toes and i really appreciate that the five stand is also very well done and the presentations are very visible and last but not least they always have shells in stock just in case you want to have a little more fun me and my friend go at least once a month and i honestly recommend it to anyone new or experienced it’s an amazing club and a amazing place with amazing people

What a great place to shoot!! 11 of us shot here for a bachelor party, and had a blast. The owners and staff were incredible and accommodating. We all have talked and wanna shoot some more rounds here. A few of the guys had never shot like this and they were sure to take the time and explain everything to them. I can’t thank them enough for the fun filled day. A few of the stands were challenging as well, but had some that were good for novice shooters.

Stayed nearby for spring break. Intended to find a place for sporting clays. This was the closest place, about half an hours drive from Tallassee where we stayed. The drive there is full of twists and turns with excellent views. The club is difficult to find using GPS, only because reception can be difficult to get. You can navigate there by a map if needed. The folks in the clubhouse were so friendly and ensured we would get a guided tour of the launching equipment. A very modern clay launching system with well maintained stations has this place high on my list of places to shoot. Stunning views and varying difficulty levels at each station. I recommend the cart option. The hike is formidable, so the cart is a nice advantage. It is one of the absolute best sporting clay courses out there.

Fantastic place to shoot shotguns and pistols. Debbie and Ed are absolutely wonderful people. It was my first time shooting moving discs and Ed walked me through the whole process. I was able to land my first target after 5 practice rounds.

The site is very roomy, lots of parking, shaded, and you can rent a golf cart to get around the entire site.

I will definitely be back for more target practice in the future! For anyone looking for a place this is it!

The nicest people and the best shotgun range around! The course is laid out with 13 stations with different looks and it’s all convenient to get to. Shells and clays are sold at great prices and they even gave us a discount for first timers. It’s a great place for beginners too and they’ll help you learn how to shoot clays. It’s a great time!

Visiting Tennessee for a week and thought I'd see if there was a local place to shoot. Did a search and found Chilhowee Sportsman's Club. I ike to shoot Sporting Clays up home from time to time when I am not competing in other shooting sports. I like it because I can just relax and shoot without having to push to perform. This location is rural and the stations are all on natural terrain, this makes it very nice and relaxing. I prefer this type of course to a more 'manicured' or 'Country club' course. The people I met here were top notch, very friendly and accommodating. 13 stations presented some very interesting pairs. This was not an easy course, but it was achievable. I will make it a point to bring my gear again when I am in this region. I highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed.

Very friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Good mix of easy to hard presentations. Safety concious. Can either walk or rent a cart to move between stations. Clean neat clubhouse. 2 course options. One has a great mountain view.

I enjoyed this shotgun, rifle and pistol shooting facility before they installed the high tech electronic remote wireless controllers on their sporting clays course. Now, if I feel like a practice round I can set each station to solo and have my own practice session. Really very cool. Thanks for a great sporting clays facility

Great service. Fun and creative shots!

Went as a business outing. Used their rental shot guns. Layout was night and several stations were quite difficult. Super fun and would recommend for any responsible person.

Wonderful hospitality with truly caring & courteous staff. Course was well designed with a good mix of easy targets for grinding and others that made you earn it. Looking forward to visiting again!

Fun targets great staff that'll make you feel like family.

Mickey and Kay are the ultimate hosts, very accommodating to say the least. The sporting clays course is one you will enjoy. They have some presentations that you could only throw in Tennessee because of the terrain. The club house is full service with a great selection of shells. I plan on shooting at Chilhowee on each trip I make to Gatlinburg.
