The people on staff are supportive and caring - they are just overwhelmed because there aren't enough of them. As a result, the sickest patients get attention and the ones who are self sufficient are left to fend for themselves. My brother has dementia and did not get a shave or a shower for a week, and I suspect his shirt had not changed in that time either. Some of this is because of the short staff, of course. But some of their problems are due to lack of attention to detail. If you ask a dementia patient if the took a shower, they say "yes" even when they haven't seen soap, a razor, or deodorant for a week (or more). We have pulled him out of Sterling Pavilion and brought him to a smaller facility in St. Louis and we have seen more attention paid to his hygiene and health.

There is a few good workers there but very rude & disrespectful ones also especially 2nd shift my mom got her left leg amputated one of the CNAs told her to go hop to the bathroom they let her set hours in her diapers which can cause bed sore they ignore her when she turns her call light on they refuse to give her her pain meds when they finally give it to her the pains out of control I have to call just about everyday just to get them to give her meds the food is horrible half the time you never know wat it is I know if they are mistreating my mom they are mistreating other residents also there is so much I can go on for hours
