Worked with Kip Nelson at Capital city for my project to replace some siding on my home . Communication was great throughout the process and Donnie did a great job in getting the work done in a timely professional manor. Great experience, fair pricing and would recommend to anyone needing siding work.

Capital City Home Improvement has been a breath of fresh air to work with. We've had several home improvement projects over the last few years but working with Chris at Capital City was amazing. He is responsive, helpful, and really cares about the outcome. We had a leak that was very concerning. When we called he was quick to come over, informative about the issues we had, and gave us choices to fix the spot or do the whole roof. We ended up doing the whole roof as there was multiple spots Chris and his inspector noticed we didn't know had any issues, that would have been much worse later. All of this information and pictures helped us make an informed decision.

Chris Hessler made the process for a new roof, new gutters and downspouts and siding worry free. And the workers did a great job on the installation. We could not be happier. I cannot get over how amazing they did on our remodel!! From start to finish Shannon, Michelle, Josh and Bill were just amazing. We bid about 4-5 different companies and they were smack dab in the middle and worth every penny. They showed up every day on time -same time which was awesome. They kept us updated on everything. We have a weird house with old wiring, plumbing, and just in general weird stuff and they never complained and handled it like champs! They told us it would take about 3-4 weeks and they were right on the money. I even threw a couple of additional requests and they knocked it out of the park - no complaints! I have worked with a lot of other contractors with this house on MUCH smaller projects and they complained a-lot. Josh and Bill did not! They just said whatever you want to do we will make it work and make it awesome! Trusting people to be in your house that long is also another thing that has always bugged me and by the time the remodel was over I was kinda sad we wouldn't see them around anymore! Truly awesome company! We will be using them in the future for a siding project and a couple of other things! Highly recommend!!

Don't be fooled by the franchise gutter people like Leaf Guard etc. Buy local and you get excellent local service. From the estimate to the follow up, Capitol City Improvement was great with communication and dealing with any questions and concerns we had. They're an A+ local company who stands behind their work. Highly recommended.

They were amazing!!!! Definitely will use them again for our detached garage. Very professional, punctual, fought with adjustor to help get all siding covered. Wish had them do our roof too! Very pleased with the professionalism the look of the siding and quick they did the job. I was told 6 weeks and only took them a week to come and get done in 2 days. Chris At Capital City Home Improvement, Is Amazing. During storm damage to our home he came to our home and actually showed us step-by-step how to file a claim. He helped us decide what to say and do through out the whole process of our damage. The damage included 2 Roof replacements, Some siding and repairs. His crew worked fast and professional and cleaned up when done. He was always polite and available if you had any questions or concerns. He was highly recommended to us from a trusted source, and we also, would highly recommend him and Capital City, to anyone needing any home repairs.

Had a new metal roof, siding and a window replaced through capital city home improvement. Chris and the crew got the job done and it all turned out great!!! Chris was definitely a phone call away everything I had a question. He never left me hangin and went above and beyond to make the home remodeling experience worth it!! Even came out after hours and helped anytime he could. Highly recommend giving Chris a call when you are ready to start your home remodeling project!

Can’t say enough good things about Chris. Had roof, gutters, and siding replaced. Everything looks good. When I posted on our subdivision webpage that I needed advice on who to go to for help on storm damage, a neighbor was at my door in minutes saying to go with Chris and Capital City. Chris took care of everything and if I had any questions or concerns, I texted him and he answered immediately. Ran interference for me with State Farm. Cut down on the stress and worry. Hopefully there won’t be any more storm damage, but if there is, I still have Chris’ number.

I used Capital City Home Improvement to replace my 29 year old roof. From beginning to end I have nothing but praise for Chris and his crew. Chris is always on time, actually early, and is a stickler for detail. I highly recommend this company and especially Chris.

Three years ago we replaced our roof with new skylights. Leaked three times because of the lack of installation correctly. Shannon and Michelle came we talked quoted a good price. We had the skylights removed, new roof. All the employee's were polite, nice and cleaned up our yard all in one day. Me and my husband are sleeping a lot better.

Shannon and Cody are incredible. They rebuilt our basement and it looks ten times better after the leak. I don't plan on going anywhere else for work. Highly recommend!

Capital City installed a new roof on my in-laws house. The roof was a very steep pitch with many peaks and angles. Not an easy roof to do! We were having trouble finding someone with the skills to replace it. Capital City came and did a fantastic job! Great quality and worked with the insurance company so my in-laws didn’t have to. Highly recommend!

We needed two of our three gutters replaced due to damage to them. I sent in a request for a quote late in the day last Tuesday and got a callback shortly before they closed on Tuesday to set up an appointment for a quote the next morning. They arrived right on time, was able to get me an exact quote right then for seamless gutters after taking some measurements, took the half-down payment, and said they could get it done that Saturday. I was not only surprised at the turnaround, but also the quote was lower than I thought and they said they could keep the existing downspouts (they were in good shape). Sure enough, Saturday comes around and they did the work and it looks excellent! Not only that, but afterwards there was no trace that they were there, so I didn't have to do any cleanup. I'm extremely happy with the entire experience.

Capital City Home Improvement and the employees were awesome to work with. They did a fabulous job on our vinyl siding and Shannon and his wife Michelle told us step by step what would happen and were very helpful! I would highly recommend capital City Home Improvement to anyone that wants the job done correctly the first time!!!

Good pricing, quick and responsive and super nice!

Extremely responsive and quality repairs to the storm damage my home received. New roof, siding and gutters. Would hire again.

Living in Springfield, IL there are tons of construction firms. Everyone seems to consider themselves a roofer, carpenter, painter, plumber, etc. This makes it exceptionally hard to decide who to choose. My girlfriend and I purchased our first home one year ago. Unfortunately the inspector lied and stated the "roof was in good shape." We started noticing leaks and drywall issues, leading us to call several roofers. I had 10+ roofers come to our house. I searched google, asked realtors, and friends for suggestions. 8 of the roofers came to the house, didn't get on top, and stated a price. Many didn't even calculate the number of squares!

I proceeded to call Capital City Home Improvement. Shannon and wife Michelle came to the house the same day. Speaking to him, he nailed the problems with the roof. He cared for our situation, but more importantly he calculated the number of squares (size of the roof) and gave an appropriate price for the number of squares. For those who are new to roofing (1 square = 100 square feet and 1 square = $300-450). As we discussed the roof, I knew Shannon understood roofing and would not take any short cuts.

Seeing the gravity of our situation, Shannon moved us up to the front of the line. 2 days after meeting him, his licensed roofer Mike started on the roof with a team of 7+ people. They proceeded to do a complete tear off, put new drip edges, lay a starter strip, install a ridge vent, counter flash the brick, lay synthetic felt, ice and water, and more.

Within 2 days they laid a new roof the proper way. They cleaned up all the nails with a magnet, picked up any scrap pieces, and ensured we (the customer) were satisfied. More importantly, a couple of plants were damaged and Shannon agreed to pay for new plants.

Capital City Home Improvement did a great job putting a new roof. Not only were they experts at their trade, they took no shortcuts.

Regardless if you choose them or not you should ask your roofer several questions:

1. Do they use a magnet to pick up nails?
2. Will they replace the OSB and how much does that cost? (Shannon does that for free - no hidden cost)
3. Do they use synthetic felt? (This makes it waterproof under your roof)
4. Will they lay a new drip edge?
5. Will they do a complete tear off?

Shannon leads a good honest company and I would recommend them for any job!

I have been doing business with the crew from Central Illinois Home Improvement for years. They do what they say and they are fair. They’re not the lowest and not the highest. I love doing business local and supporting family owned companies. I’d give them 10 stars if I could.
