Diakonos Counseling

I could probably write a book about the amazing people in this practice, but I’ll refrain. I started going here in 2021 and saw a counselor that was good, but not the one that I thought would be the best fit for me. This left me feeling discouraged, but I tried harder. After looking through everyone’s bio, who was taking new clients and calling the office, I landed with Lauren Graham (highly recommend). I was previously in counseling for years before moving to KC and didn’t think I’d find someone I liked. I also have experience working with Phillip Smith for individual and family/marriage counseling (also highly recommend) and experience with Sara Howard which is a life coach (my first time seeing a life coach) and she is great as well. I’ve been at both the liberty and independence locations and I enjoy them both. I’m still using Diakonos and plan to be with my people for a long time to come, Lord willing. The office/admin staff have never been difficult to deal with either. Needless to say, after the great experiences here, I’m sure everyone at Diakonos would be great. Keep trying, you just have to find the right fit for YOU!

Perfect Christian counselors

I went there for family counseling or more like “we’re going to allow every person to attack you in hateful way.” To the point I got up and walked out. He said you can’t read body language or count for the way she’s talking. My sister was talking extremely snooty as if she better than ever person, she’s never once talked to this way. Then he started doing it. Disrespectful, rude. I thought family counseling was suppose to help, not destroy and end relationships. I’ve cried since 2 and asked for call back so he that understood why I walked away. I was excessively attacked by him and her. Basically, if you want to be punching bag and be bullied even more so. Go here. Won’t be going back. I would negative 5 stars if I could. He said he had 15 years of experience and dr degree. I’ve never seen a therapist attack someone.it was Langdon. No call back.

This place sucks. We have been waiting 3 weeks to get scheduled and nobody is answering our calls or calling us back. It takes a lot for somebody to reach out and ask for help and they can’t even do 1 thing and call us back.
