This is one of the best bait shops around. The cashiers are very friendly and helpful. The bait it fresh. Definitely recommend the minnows in air bags.

The employees there have been very nice to me giving me tricks and good places to fish. Love their stocked frozen bait. It’s sealed nicely and it has worked when I’ve used it. I’m glad they stayed opened and did not permanently close.

Our grandson just learned to fish late in the summer of 2023 and it is now his most favorite thing to do. He fishes 3-4 times a week at James A Reed so we make our weekly stop at Forty Woods for minnows. The guys Tyler and Hunter are the best. They always acknowledge him and have learned his name along with my husbands. We stopped in before Christmas to get our grandson a hat and before we left they gave us a Christmas gift for him from the guys at Forty Woods! They are the best and we enjoy coming in to see them! By the way just to the side of the front door is the grandson’s picture of a monster bass he caught on their minnows!! We will continue to give Forty Woods our business!!!

Look this place is not best looking place, but it has what you need. More importantly, the staff is nice. I appreciate I can come get what I need and get out. I have been coming here buying the crickets, super meal worms, and crawlers, everything is great quality. We found a baby robin and my son has been feeding it about every 30-60 minutes from sun up to sun down for almost three weeks. He is thriving and we couldn’t have done it without the bait. My husband had stopped here once on a whim and found the perfect bait, I can only find these tiny crappie baits here and no where else, I even tried amazon, bass pro, and several Walmarts. A man was in the one day buying fish for his children, pretty looking, the guy working there said they try to find the super nice ones for people who comes in to get them as pets, when I mentioned those were nice fish.

I appreciate the guys at Fortywoods and glad the new owner stepped up so we can keep a bait shop for these Great Lakes we have around here. Get over there and pick up some gear and bait and get to fishing! Also can help being a local FFL dealer.

Forty woods is the best place to get your fishing gear, bait, tackle, and knives! They have tons of poles, lures, fishing accessories, and always the best bait! Also if you have reptiles or amphibians it's a great place to get feeders. They have earthworms, wax worms, superworms, and crickets! They are always friendly and have great prices!

Hunter is always on point with service. He is my go to guy and is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Been coming to this bait shop since I was a kid.
