The best bakery in the county. If you haven’t been here- make some time. The cranberry bread and cookies were amazing. Everything we tried was amazing. Super cute spot in Baywood too with a little garden.

Incredible bakery. The owner is super friendly, is a real friend of the local community, and chooses delicious spreads/drinks for the breads. This is some of the best bread I’ve had and I can’t recommend the linzer tarts enough. Caliwala is worlds better than Boudin Bakery in SF.

The bread is amazing. The pastries are incredible Wayward is one of the best bakeries anywhere! Our favorite stop when we are in the area. We had lunch there today and loved it. The staff is so knowledgable and friendly. Highly recommend this bakery.

We are visiting from Germany and can wholeheartedly recommend this cozy bakery. We just bought various cookies and a walnut cranberry bread that is just to die for!!! We Germans really know our bread but the visit at caliwala is always a highlight when we’re in this area! You can really tell that Erin and her partner take pride in what they’re doing and bring a lot of love into it, just like how they treat their customers!

I was back visiting LO and brought my family to try what I thought was still Pagnols, but to my surprise it’s now Caliwala! I’m not up to date on the change but Caliwala did not disappoint at allllll. I tried several items — chocolate chip cookie, roasted veggie tamale pie, potato & mushroom empanada, and the cheddar garlic loaf. Omg everything was amazing.

The cheddar garlic loaf was INSANE. Just the perfect crust on the outside, spongy soft bread on the inside, and it was baked to open-crumb perfection. I loved the large pieces of garlic and cheddar inside. You can see and taste the ingredients. I thought the loaf would last a day or two but it was consumed in it’s entirety within 20 minutes. Out of this world.

What a find. Lovely people and some fantastic breads. We each had a pie which had all sorts of ingredients in, forget what it was called but absolutely delicious.
BTW this bakery does not do sandwiches etc, but a huge range of other baked food.

Wow what an absolute gem of a bakery! The owner is so passionate about his craft. Every time we’re in SLO, we have to come pick up a few loaves of his sourdough varieties. Our favorite is the rosemary olive sourdough!!! Pick up some cheese and wine on your way to sandspit beach for a lovely Oceanside picnic!!

Absolutely lovely place! Great for anyone living in Santa Margarita or the surrounding area. Also a great place to stop on your way to the lake or if you're just passing through. The chocolate soft serve ice cream is to die for! Also come pick up a salad or sandwich! Or if you're going camping this is a great spot to pick up anything you may have missed. :)

Great croissants and coffee, and very friendly service. They have a window so that one can order without having to go inside, and a nice little outdoor eating space.

Today I was gifted some cookies from Caliwala Bakery. I have eaten lots of cookies and I can say without hesitation these cookies are the very best. Don't hesitate - check out this bakery they have vegan and gluten free options. This is a locally owned bakery that knows how to serve up goodness.

We've always loved the baked goods from this spot, but I was skeptical when they claimed their vegan & GF chocolate chip cookies were actually good. They use a recipe that combines garbanzo flour, chia flour, and several other ingredients that apparently took three years to develop, but I still had my doubts. So when I took my first bite of one and experienced an utterly delicious and perfectly textured cookie, I became a true believer! Fantastic!

Delightful little bakery and the staff were very friendly and took the time to help us wade through the menu of eclectic items. We got three breads and a variety of sweet items and they were all wonderful. My favorites were the Einkorn loaf (complex nutty flavor and texture), the darker Almond Cookie with Acorn (slightly spicy, complex and crunchy), and the Linzer Tart with Cardamom was simply amazing. We'll be back the next time we're in the area for sure. The loaves are on the small side but they are denser than most sourdoughs so you def get your money's worth from their artisan loaves.

Such a cute and wholesome little grocery store! Locally sourced meats, homemade bread and very friendly employees. 10/10 would visit again.

I visited Caliwala Bakery for the first time since it changed ownership and thought the quality of the baked goods is still amazing. We got an olive bread loaf that is so moist and flavorful that we ate a couple of slices with no butter what so ever. Will definitely go back the next time I visit Los Osos.

Amazingly adorable place & owner! Home baked goodness here. This tiny but mighty place in a cute one horse town is not to be missed. The owner curated selections are unparalleled in fine taste! They are even happy to bake special orders with more than a two day notice. C-19 safe & friendly. Since it is at the very end of town on the left corner, it is easy to miss. It is diagonally across the way from the famous The Range restaurant....which is also a must.

We bought a loaf of the olive and rosemary sourdough at the Morro Bay Farmers Market. It was awesome! I'm so impressed with this bread, I wish I could buy more right now! I'm so many miles away it's not even funny, but the next time I'm in town I will buy more! ❤

Our event was catered by Caliwala and we couldn't be happier. Erin walked and talked me through the process from beginning to end. Her background in putting on events was so helpful. I had never put on an event before and this memorial/celebration of life for my son was attended by at least 160 people. Erin helped us put together our casual luncheon in such a way that it beautifully presented solutions to keep people safe and also provided options for all sorts of diets with healthy food. We chose a variety of sandwiches for meat eaters and vegans alike. Gluten free options too. Everything tasted so good and looked so nice. Her vegan carrot cake was such a hit!
I highly recommend you check out the market and taste the goodies in the deli. If you have an event that needs to be catered, Caliwala has solutions and will work with you to make it a great experience.

Delicious breads and other baked items! Everything is wholesome and fresh. I love coming here for the bakery and a cup of coffee. It's a wonderful community experience, as well:)
