Cody was awesome to talk with. He is the reason we came back from Florida to book a trip! We got Micah for a guide and he was absolutely amazing!! He is very knowledgeable and friendly. This is my favorite fly shop in Tennessee. The owner is a great guy, friendly and very knowledgeable. We recently booked a guide trip to learn Euronymphing and had a blast. Elijah was fun to hang out with and put us on the fish - a great teacher. I’ll definitely do it again and I encourage you to visit this store and give them your business!!!

Micah was a great guide, he will show you more about fly fishing for trout in one day than you can study on your own for a year. His passion for fly fishing is contagious. Tellico outfitters greatly exceeded our expectations, I wish there were 6 stars for this review.

My uncle and I hired a guide through Tellico Outfitters a few weeks back and the entire experience couldn't have been better. The entire staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and our guide, Micah, was awesome. It was my first time fly fishing so needless to say I had next to no clue what I was doing, but Micah was extremely patient and helpful in getting me up to speed and on the fish. Great day of fishing, even hit a wild brown! Can't recommend these guys highly enough if you're looking for good information or extremely knowledgeable guides.

Went on a guided trip with the Tellico Outfitters Wednesday had a great time. Caught fish, learned so much.The guides at the shop are the very best. I had Micah as my guide. This man has the patience of a kindergarten teacher herding cats.He taught me the cast took the time to get me comfortable with it, pointed out what I was doing to scare the fish. Then we were on fish. It was a great day of fun and fish. Thank y’all so much I’m hooked on euro-nymphing.

Great, well stocked fly shop with super friendly and knowlegable staff. A half day on the river with Micah taught me small stream tactics that blew my old school fly fishing mind! He is a great coach and boy did we catch some gorgeous fish! Cheers!

5 stars for many reasons. First, I forgot my reel in Massachusetts and Cody was nice enough to let me rent a reel for the day and give me some great pointers given that I knew nothing about the river. Second, we were able to last minute book a half day guided trip with Micah for the next morning without a problem.

Micah was an absolutely awesome guide who not only put us on fish, but was also incredibly knowledgeable about the local rivers and trout behavior in general. These guys are awesome. If you're in the area, especially if you're new to the river, I would book them in a heartbeat.

Absolutely wonderful experience in my first guided trip! Cody was very helpful in providing fly / gear recommendations and adjusting the meetup to accommodate my needs. Adam was a great guide that helped improve my Euro technique and also made sure we had a fun and enjoyable day on the water. Lunch was incredible and included fresh local bread and one of my favorites… San Pelligrino!? It’s obvious that Cody and staff are genuinely good people that have a passion for fly fishing. Can’t wait for my next trip to the Tellico!

Can not say enough good things about Cody and Tellico Outfitters. I am brand new to the sport and needed guidance on what to buy, what to fish, and how. I purchased a rod/reel outfit, strike indicators, leaders, tippets, etc.

Cody was an incredibly patient and informative educator on the sport. I would urge anyone looking to get into fly fishing to visit his shop.

Cody's shop is awesome! Well stocked with anything you need and located at the gateway to an incredible fishery. Cody's knowledge of his home waters is extensive and he's happy to get you started right! Can't say enough good things. Go see for yourself!

I never fished for trout before. My guide Micah was super knowledgeable, and he showed me the ropes in a half day trip. Friendly and professional. They will take care of you whether you are a novice or veteran fly fisherman. For me it was well worth the price. I really enjoyed the outing.

We had an absolutely great experience with Jessica this weekend. She is an outstanding guide and taught us way more than we expected. Her passion and knowledge of fly fishing and of the area are incredible. Thank you for the inspiration!!

Can't say enough great things about Tellico Outfitters! My wife and I just moved to eastern Tennessee and we were looking for ways to get to better know the area for its fishing, camping and hiking opportunities. We were fortunate that we discovered Tellico Outfitters in Tellico Plains. We recently completed a guided fishing day trip with them and WOW, what a great day it was!
Everything from the booking to the last cast went flawlessly. Cody in the shop and our guide Micah in the field made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in the door. The shop has a great assortment of quality gear and they set us up with everything we needed. Within an hour, we were up in the Cherokee National Forest in the water catching beautiful rainbows.
Micah is not only a great guide but also a great guy. I hadn't fly fished for decades and it was my wife's first time. Micah took the time and had the patience to work with us as we learned of Tellico Outfitter's techniques and presentations for catching Tellico River trout! Before long we were netting some beautiful fish.

Awesome shop! I broke my rod before heading up to fish and Cody helped me fix it up. Thankfully, I was still able to fish that day. Thank you for awesome customer service/care. Will come back many more times.

Knowledgeable friendly staff. Always helpful and willing to point you in the right direction for some fish. They always know what’s hatching and what fish are feeding whether it be wilds or stocked fish. Unlike many fly shops I’ve been to, Cody and his staff willing talk to you and help you even if your not dropping $300 on gear. Many other shops employees interaction with you seems to be dependent upon what you’re willing to spend. Not these guys! That being said spend your money here versus some of these other fraternity like fly shops. Always worth the drive!!

Cody was great. Very helpful and did not try to push product. I only stopped in to see if he had flies to match the cicada hatch. He gave me a great stream report for where I was heading, and was spot on for what the fish were striking. I will be back when we return in the fall to pick up Cody's recommendations.

Big fan of this store. Visited a few days ago with my dad, asked for some help picking out flies. They told me what was hitting and they all worked! They have all the gear you need as well. Along with flies, got some leaders, indicators, tippet, and an awesome shirt! Can't wait to visit again soon.

Tellico Outfitters is fantastic! Very knowledgeable and will help out anyway they can. Anything you need to know about the Tellico River and the surrounding streams/fisheries in the area, they can point you in the right direction. They also offer guided fishing trips as well. Has everything one would need for a successful fishing trip from hand tied flies, fishing rods to quality clothing and fishing accessories. A must go when visiting Tellico Plains!
