Montgomery's Place

It was such a fantastic chance to meet and connect with an incredible couple who happen to have the same last name as us, and we had never crossed paths before. Montgomery’s Place turned out to be the perfect venue for this initial encounter. The food and ambiance were absolutely top-notch. Interestingly, my wife and I unintentionally showed our support for Down the Leash Service Dogs by wearing their shirts. What an amazing non-profit organization they are!

This is exactly the place Carterville was missing! The coffee, food, drinks, and vibe are excellent. Definitely one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to visit again this summer when the garage doors are open out to the patio!!

Atmosphere is amazing. The coffee is excellent. I have tried everything from the Carmel macchiato which was perfection to a cup of black fresh brew and it was all excellent. The service is friendly and fast no matter how busy.

What a cute place! Food was home cooked and yummy 😋 ! Atmosphere is small town Contemporary and love how they have mixed the new with the old. Great Vibe and great Folks here! Highly recommended 👌!

This place was delicious! I ordered the garlic smash burger, loved it. The cheese and sauce they add to it made it absolutely fantastic. On the server’s recommendation, my wife ordered the French dip sandwich; they had a daily special on smoked prime rib and the sandwiches were made from the same cut. They were delicious. We even tried the cheese curds, and they got the “appreciative sigh of satisfaction” from my wife. She’s a tough sell and something of a cheese curd aficionado. Very satisfied with this place. A little on the pricey side for an entire family where the younger members would be just as happy with a happy meal, but worth every penny for those who really enjoy delicious food.

I was lucky enough to be in town early for a meeting and grab a toast and a coffee from this place. I highly anticipate their dinner offerings and can’t say enough good things about their coffee and toast. Only recommendation for the toast is that it could be a slightly larger portion for the price, but the flavors were excellent and the quality of ingredients is there so that i don’t feel that it’s an unfair price. They use Big Shoulders coffee out of Chicago which is an awesome addition to downstate and I can’t wait to return when dinner is available. Coffee is made with care and they have several non dairy milks available.

Such a cute place and the food is soooo good! Had 2 for $10 last time, crawfish chowder & pecan berry salad— best I’ve ever had. Today we’ve just had some amazing zucchini fries and are excited to eat my bday lunch.

What a wonderful surprise we had when we tried Montgomery's Place. Brunch was fabulous, this place is so pleasant. I am looking forward to hearing that they are open for dinner too. A soon to be favorite. It's definitely a hidden gem in Southern Illinois.

Outstanding new place in Carterville. Had an espresso and excellent cinnamon roll.

Spicy margarita is 10/10! All the appetizers we tried were so good. The patio was the perfect spot to sit too!

Such a cute place! We’ve gone for breakfast and then gone back for coffee and loved everything. Highly recommend their toasts and lavender latte. They’ve done a great job with that building. It’s beautiful. Can’t wait for the rest of it to open up.

The bacon cheeseburger and fries were both terrific! Looking forward the going back to try other things. The service was great as well. Highly recommended!

Great new place if you have time stop in and check it out. Had the chicken and waffles which were very very good. Coffee was really solid as well! They were still working on getting dinner service up and running and will definitely be back to check it out!

We own a coffee shop out of state so when visiting family we always look for a locally owned place to visit This shop is CUTE CUTE CUTE! It is going to be an amazing addition to Carterville! The interior is very nicely done, the staff was friendly and the coffees were great! Good job guys! we will be back!

This wonderful local restaurant has it all for breakfast & lunch! Located in a meticulously restored historic building in our downtown. What a gem!
