Fantastic place with great inventory for pro level sound and lighting gear. They have the cutting edge gear as well as the classics, with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Everything is reasonably priced with a shop warranty and if they don't have it, they can order it!

So few places have products out that you can try out as well as knowledgeable staff. They have both! Highly recommend Metro!

Had them refoam some tannoy hpd315a and the work was flawless! It took a while because they are quite busy (mostly dealing with pro audio) but if you need it done right it is more than worth the wait! Friendly and knowledgeable.

For my wedding, one of my responsibilities was to secure lighting and sound equipment. After looking for nearby rental shops, I found Metro Sound and Lighting. At first, I was not especially excited to go to the store, as I expected to be greeted with high prices, a barrage of incomprehensible information, and high-pressure sales tactics.

Boy was I glad my expectations were wrong! Metro sound and lighting is truly one of the most professionally-run businesses I've had the pleasure of giving my support. Everyone I spoke to there was polite, highly knowledgeable, and willing to work within my modest budget. Never was I encouraged to spend a higher amount than I initially stated, and each of my questions was thoroughly addressed in language I could understand.

The entire transaction was smooth, enjoyable, and unpretentious. I walked out of the shop soon after entering, with a rental secured, and a head full of intuitively-laid out knowledge about what exactly I had purchased. When I picked up my rental items, they were quickly transferred to my car. The return was quick and painless as well. I've since returned on one occasion, and will ardently encourage anyone I know with audio needs to address them here.

Metro Sound & Lighting is the only retail and brand dealer I trust with my business needs. It doesn’t matter if I go in to spend $5 on an XLR cable of $5,000 on a new lighting system. I am always treated with respect and honesty. I trust the staff and their knowledge of the industry 100%.

I've been purchasing sound and stage equipment from Metro for decades. The owner, Larry, has become a real good friend with my wife and I. Larry's staff has been with him a long time. There isn't much these guys don't know and they're all good guys.
The inventory is impressive and they carry all the best brands that people want. And the big surprise is... their prices are hard to beat, even on the internet.
It's pretty dang convenient to drop in, pick a speaker stand, a wireless mic system, and a mixing board, like I did, have a nice chat with the guys (you've really got to get to know them). I usually work with Adam but he's out with health issues, so Chris stepped in to help us with a smile.
Metro Sound is one of those places that make you feel like you've been gigging with these guys all your life. You know they'll give it to you straight. And, as an added benefit, you never know who you're going to meet while you're there. It's a great place to encounter people in the entertainment profession.

These guys have a nice variety of equipment to choose from. They have a vast amount of experience to give you the right advice. And they have excellent repair shop / service that I would highly recommend. I've been doing business what's Metro Sound lighting for many many years, and they have always met or far exceeded my expectations!

These guys are awesome! I bought Shure SE 535, then, 5 years later, SE846. They have a cool display where you can compare 425, 535, and 846 side by side. Shop local, and you won't feel guilty that you sponsored the Evil Empire of Amazon. Also, this shop has better prices than Amazon, so it's really a no-brainer.

Been dealing with these guys for over 20 years. Always worth the drive from Fargo. Every Time I need new amps, speakers or lights.. My wife says "Your Road tripping to the toy store in St. Paul again .. aren't you... " . Yes I am.. great value and great ideas to make your shows even bigger and better!

Pretty nice store. Me, my dad and the DJ company I work go there a lot. Or frequently. Plenty of equipment, wiring, connection, slliters, lights, mixers, tables. And if they don't have it the can order it.

I do music for a living, so it's important that the technical end of things gets done right. Metro was great in getting my touring rig put together and then supporting it over the last several years. Their prices are also very competitive, and the service department is great. Highly recommend.

We have been shopping here for over 15 years, and have already spent here over $75k in sound equipment for our church. Excellent customer service and no one else can beat their prices in-town! No one! And we have verified it multiple times. They are quite busy most of the time for this reason, so be patient, as it pays off once they start working with you.

Very knowledgeable staff. They were very helpful a couple years ago in sorting out which new sound console to purchase. The other day they repaired a speaker for me while I waited. Good guys, Chris is a cool dude.
