Instant Shade has completed many jobs for me at every place I have lived over the past 20 years. From moving large trees with the spade from place to place on my property, to sourcing and delivering perennials from Mid Atlantic growers, to finding just the right trees for the job, to moving huge American and English Boxwoods to happy new homes in my garden, to installation of beds, plants and even hardscaping. They are meticulous, knowledgeable, reasonable, resourceful and fun to work with. They helped me install a garden for my wedding in 2003 that had only a year to settle in and look picture perfect for the big day and years to come. They helped me source the plants, trees and install the gardens in the photos attached (which are not yet finished because of my time constraints), in short order. Believe it or not, this garden is only two years old! I look forward to working with Instant Shade again this fall as we finish installing the perennial borders of the pictured garden. I would strongly recommend their services to anyone who is interested in quality and integrity, and possibly a bit of good humor.

As a landscape architect who deals with many contractors in and around central Virginia, I wanted to put in an A+ rating for Instant Shade. We have done several projects together involving complex planting plans, hard-to-source perennials and large, spaded trees. The owner, Ralph, knowledgeable, kind, and always a pleasure to work with on installations. Plus, who doesn’t love an Irish accent?!

Ralph was great to work with. His team was conscientious and cleaned up the site perfectly. We used Instant Shade on two different projects and were pleased both times.

If a company can't keep an appointment, they probably cant be trusted with living trees. Find an alternative!
