Wrice BBQ

Finally made it to this BBQ place.
I had a chopped beef sandwich. Generally not on my menu. This sandwich had enough meat piled on to make two. Good and chunky and not mushy like most. I also had their boudain link. Smoked and cooked just right, not too dry.
The atmosphere of being in the old fill'n station was an added bonus. The staff was very friendly.
Give this place a try.

1st time going to this place, 2PM on a Sunday. The man behind the counter was courteous and helpful suggesting a meal. He let me know they're open till 5pm on Sundays. I went with the rib and brisket combo with Mac n cheese, potato salad for the sides and a can of soda. It also comes with BBQ sauce, a small side of pickles and 2 slices of bread. RIBS = AMAZING! 👏🙌🙏. Moist and tender with the perfect amount of smoke and spice. Everything was good. Brisket was a little dry but tasted great. Mac was creamy and seasoned well. Potato salad was cool, crisp, fresh and tangy. BBQ sauce was just the right amount of sweet and spice, it's got a little kick to it. Needless to say I'll definitely be back for a rib plate. Awesome BBQ place, you enter through the garage to order and they also have a drive up. The food was delicious and had flavor before even adding the BBQ sauce! Staff is friendly and the environment is very relaxed and comfortable. They have a pool table and some TVs running sports.

Me and the guys at work been eyeing this place and as soon as we pulled up the owner was about to close, when I asked unc if he was closing he said if I was hungry I was like he’ll yeaaa he was kind enough to open up for us so thank you Mr.Wrice but above that the food was amazing best brisket I had in Texas I we highly recommended will be coming back again

It's really good and Mr. Wrice is one of the nicest men you will meet. I work nearby and come by for lunch or pick up dinner. Well worth the money. I personally love the brisket but my coworker lives for the sausage. Great if you are doing Keto also as Mr. Write is very accommodating. It's just good food and a good vibe. Love love love.

An amazing place to eat! I love that there was inside or outside seating. Food was SPECTACULAR!

The service was excellent, the food was delicious we had the brisket and sausage platter.

Got up there to get lunch for the family and realized I didn't have my wallet. Mr. Wrice noticed me looking for it and came outside. When I couldn't find it in the car, he offered to fill my order anyways and let me come back later to pay for it. Never met this man before in my life so I thought that was pretty amazing. We had brisket, sausage and ribs with baked beans and potato salad. Everything was awesome!

My wife and I were looking for a good Texas BBQ restaurant, and being the inexperienced non-locals that we are, simply googled “bbq restaurant.” We decided to go with Wrice BBQ after seeing it didn’t have terrible reviews and the pictures of the food looked more than edible.
We got there and ordered a couple of combo plates, and upon ordering my food I thought to myself that the guy who took my order was very pleasant (as I’m used to what my home state Oregon generally has to offer, which is often subpar at best.)
My wife and I sat down to enjoy our meals, which were delicious, at the perfect time, too, as it was an off hour and the restaurant was empty.
Out came the gentleman that took our order, along with his wife. Come to find out, it was Mr. and Mrs. Wrice themselves, and they were wonderful folks that were great company during our meal.
Long story short, I’d highly recommend Wrice BBQ for some great food and people.

I'd been by here several times and thought to stop there sometime, and today I did. I think I have never been as warmly welcomed anywhere. Mr Wrice came out to meet me in the portico, and brought me in to show me around and we talked for 10 minutes before he asked how could he help. I told him what I liked and he custom cut it for me. We talked some more and I left with a pound of brisket, chopped to order.
Mr Wrice is a one man operation weekdays so call ahead, but Fridays and weekends he calls in the crew.
The brisket? I'll be getting mine at Mr Wrice's place.

Stopped thru while in town and had a taste for BBQ. Roosevelt Wrice did this! Tender flavorful brisket and ribs falling off the bone! Yummy potato salad like my Mama's and the baked beans hot out the pot with just enough sweet and spice to tickle your fancy. We're moving romthe area so we'll definitely be back especially on Friday night!!

OMG.....my sister told me about this place,and I finally found it. The brother was Kool as @#$$& , so I stayed and got food. Reminds me of back home. When I route back through,I'm gonna attend his small function out front on Friday and Saturday nights.

Food was amazing and service was great the lady behind the counter was friendly and very knowledgeable of the food she was serving and I'll definitely go back laid back atmosphere dj on Friday and Saturday and that do Calvin has all the sounds from ol school to new school.. if you haven't been I recommend you go and check it out

Nice little BBQ joint. Music on point, food is good and prices are fair. We sat outside in nice weather.

OMG the food is so good Mr. Wrice is awesome

Awesome little spot. Nice selection of daiquiri drinks to choose from. Sometimes they run out different flavors, but it's not too often. The girl that opens on the afternoon is super friendly, and very good. I love swinging through here with friends when they come in out of town. Louisiana is the only place I ever ever seen these, and I love that they are in Texas now.

Food is great & the owner is a really good person. Texas city resident from way back.
Should try it out if you're in the area.
