Russell's Seafood Grill

Pictured is the lunch serving of blackened fish & shrimp with sweet potato fries & grits. Delicious! Fries are more savory than sweet. Perfectly blackened for those who do not like spiciness. Cheese grits do not have the cheese cooked into them, it's on top. Not pictured is one of the best slices of key lime pie I have ever had. Next time I'll get it without the cherry/strawberry tasting drizzle.

Our first time at Russell's and we were not disappointed. Old time seafood restaurant feel and smell is what I first noticed. I had the Sea Scallop basket grilled and the taste was fantastic(ate a couple before the pic)...add on a house salad with ranch and awesome green beans, so tasty. My wife and granddaughter had the creek shrimp basket with fries that were delicious...thick cut fries better than the shoestring and slaw was just great too. Topped it off with the best key lime pie we have ever had. Last our server Kennedy was the best, great personality and just a genuinely nice person.

Absolutely amazing food. Eat here before but never had the whole damn pot. It was amazing!!!! Friendly people too and awesome service. Definitely will come back!

Our first time in town. There’s a handful of seafood places within the little stretch of road. We chose this place because it’s old town feel. Not new and fancy, comfortable and delicious!! The food was spot on and we had a variety of all different types. My favorite was the hush puppies and grilled shrimp-man that seasoning was so good!! We definitely will be back when we pass through again.

Just finished one of the best lunches of my life here.
Husband and I ordered a shrimp po'boy, and a seafood platter with calamari and scallops. The sides were fresh cut fries (they're very large in thickness but cooked well and NOT dry like you sometimes can get), and corn salad which tastes like it had been on the BBQ which was nice.
Scallops were incredibly tender! The shrimps in the po'boy were huge and perfectly cooked. The calamari were fresh and fried beautifully. The assortment of dips matched really well and gave a nice change in flavour so nothing tired your tastebuds out.
The first round of hush puppies were phenomenal. The second round were somehow even better. You didn't even need honey butter but if you choose to go that route you won't regret it either 😆

Sweet tea was very sweet and nice. Also had a Coke which contrasted well with the rich foods.

We sat out on the almost empty patio and had wonderful service from Brittany.

We're going to have a heckuva time beating this meal on this vacation but man we might just have to come back again later this week 🤣

I have lived in SSB for years and have eaten many meals in Murrell's Inlet but have never eaten at Russell's Seafood Grill until today and I gotta say I have wasted a lot of time not coming here sooner. This is by far one of the best meals my party and I have had in Murrell's.
Hushpuppies were great, onion ring appetizer was fantastic and entrees of shrimp basket, fish and chips and grouper poboy were all on point.
Added a couple clusters of crablegs and they were meaty and delicious, much better than any of the so called AYCE crablegs.
Do yourself a favor... Go to Russell's!

New place for us to emjoy a perfect evening eating on the patio. Russell's has quite a long history among many other restaurants that have come and gone. Probably because of the GREAT SERVICE, EXCELLENT COCKTAILS, COOL BEACH AMBIANCE and DELICIOUS FOOD. Thank you Kristen for the recommendations to my wife and all around friendly service! My wife had a delicious mojito and I had a perfectly prepared Old Fashioned (of course) with Bulleit Rye. I was not starving so I had an appetizer, shrimp and scallops in a whiskey & brown sugar reduction - WOW!! To be honest, I do not remember what my wife had other than the salad with homemade bleu cheese dressing which she said was delicious. Last but not least... the complimentary hush puppies. Last, because we had to wait for more to be prepared, but DEFINITELY worth the wait! Another shout out to Kristen for being so diligent in your quest for our hush puppies!!!

Food, Service, Atmosphere were all top notch. A must try when on the coast of SC.

This casual seafood restaurant is amazing! We went back for a second dinner after having such delicious food the first night. The bourbon-glazed salmon and the grilled grouper were cooked perfectly. Flaky and moist. The hush puppies they bring out first are the best I've ever had. The staff is super friendly and the food did not take long to come out. Happy hour prices are good for beer and wine. (That's what we had.) Both times we went close to 5 pm because it's not a big place, and sure enough, as 5:30 rolled around, it started getting very busy. The prices are way better than some of the other seafood restaurants in the same area (I vetted them all.) The two meals we had were excellent, and we will be coming back. I also enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere and nautical decor.

Read the reviews from a local website and it met expectations everything was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She was helpful with selections too. The raw oysters were delicious, could have been shucked more. The grilled seafood basket and crab cake was delicious. Will return.

My boss, who winters in Myrtle Beach, had Russell’s at the top of his list for recommended restaurants in the area, and it did not disappoint.

Also, we had a vegetarian in our party. I only saw one option on the menu (linguini alfredo) so I emailed them a couple weeks ahead, and they said they could make something special for her. The chef Tyler surprised her with zucchini involtini. This dish is zucchini ribbons rolled and filled with ricotta mixture, and baked in marinara sauce (I had to look it up). Many restaurants would just throw some grilled vegetables on rice or pasta for a vegetarian, but Chef Tyler put considerable effort in to planning and making a very memorable dish. Thanks Chef Tyler!

We started with the combo appetizer, then had the flounder & scallop combo (fried), the catch of the day, and bourbon glazed salmon. All were delicious, and the sides were delicious as well. The fish was cooked just right, and the scallops were much larger than I expected.

Wagyu sliders topped with caramelized scallops? Yes please. Also the best hush puppies I've had in a while, and very rich she crab soup.

Wr had lunch there, the waitress brought out some hush puppies that were delicious! I had the shrimp tacos and she crab soup again simply delicious! The Maryland crab cake sandwich looks amazing as well as the burgers. If it hadn’t been raining maybe we would have sat out on the deck. We highly recommend!

The food was delicious. The crab legs were cooked perfectly. There was 6 people in our party and we were seated promptly and our waitress was EXCELLENT. The young lady went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Will definitely go back.

We got the whole dang pot and it was honestly the best seafood I’ve ever had! The crab legs were cooked perfectly and the meat just fell right out. The potatoes and clams were well seasoned and the shrimp peeled very easily. Overall one of the best meals out I’ve had. We will definitely make it a point to come back here when we are in town!

The atmosphere is rustic. The food is delicious. I always get the same thing because I love it so much. Their shrimp is very lightly breaded and the hush puppies are perfect paired with a load of baked potato and it’s a fantastic meal.

Service when we got it was good. But took a very long time for server to acknowledge us being seated in her area. We actually had to flag down two others to find out who our server was. Food was awesome though as it normally is.

I came here with friends for lunch, food was not expensive and very tasty. I loved the food and the cocktail selection was great too!

My family had dinner here for Mother’s Day after spending the day at the beach. We had the shrimp crab dip for our appetizer, delicious! My youngest and I split the whole steam pot & it was more than enough. My oldest daughter had the shrimp and grits and
loved it. My husband had the ribeye which was cooked perfect! The service was excellent.

Iconic. It's been here forever. We went here for a special occasion dinner for two. This restaurant is across the street from the water, so if you're looking for beachfront/waterfront, you'll have to look across the street for that. The food was on point, and the prices were what you'd expect for the quality and portion size. I had the scallop and shrimp combo (grilled) and I really enjoyed my meal. Parking can be a bit of a challenge so go early!
