Jim and Justin are the best of the best marine mechanics. While passing through St. Augustine on our way north we started developing issues with our exhaust system that they trouble shot and fixed. Smart, honest, and a pleasure to work with - we highly recommend.

These guys are great! Very considerate and communicative. They don't try to rip you off either, upfront about prices and how to save some money. They were very thorough in diagnosing our issue and had no problems with us doing our own work as well! Thank you!!

Jim and Justin fixed our MasPower 8KW genset quickly and pleasantly. Turns out it was a fuel problem and they did a nice general look over as well. Strongly positive recommendation!

First mate yacht services are just great!!!! They went over and above our expectations and even taught us a few things about the engines we had installed. My wife & I were traveling to St. Augustine from Fernandina Beach & lost an engine 5 miles out (due to an injector issue). Justin had the Yanmar injector delivered the next day & he and Jim had us going in 45 minutes. I wish I could give 10 stars instead of 5. Thanks again to Justin, Jim, Patricia and First Mate for literally saving the day for us!

Absolutely fantastic service! We arrived Sunday afternoon with a failed fresh water pump for our water system. I left a message asking for their assistance and I met Jim when they opened Monday morning. He said they would do everything they could to fit us in. By 2pm the issues were resolved. Many thanks to Jim, Justin and Trish for rearranging their day to get us back operational. I highly recommend First Mate Yacht Services!

They fixed a generator for me I recently had a question about the generator they took the time to walk me through what I needed to do

We needed the 2000 hour service on our boat’s Yanmar engines. We made an appointment and they showed up on time and did the work! They were even pleasant in addition to being competent. Trish ordered us extra parts for an impending trip and everything arrived the next day. We are delighted to have discovered the entire crew at First Mate.

Needed parts for electrical work. Ordered and received breakers in a few days. Needed another quickly an had it Monday morning. Very helpful and pleasent to do buisiness with.

These guys ( Justin & Jim ) did a motor service on both my motors in my catamaran and found port motor to be a in serious distress and in need of replacement.
I found a bargain on a motor and these guys had the old motor out and new one in post haste.
Very professional and fast not to mention these rates are fair and equatable!!

Not many companies I will say that about but they surely deserve it

I had these guys out to do an emergency repair on a failed oil cooler line last spring while visiting St Augustine at the municipal marina. They were amazing. Not only did the work quickly and well but at very reasonable rates. We had them remove all the oil we lost in the bilge and do a bilge cleanup which they did very well. We then had to leave the boat for a week and had them monitor the bilge. We had to shut off the bilge pumps to ensure no oil overboard discharge. They did a great job of that too! Can't say enough about these guys. Skilled, honest, rapid response, multidisciplinary ... everything you would wish for but very rarely find these days.

We had exceptional service from First Mate Yacht Services. They came right to our boat to do our 50 hour engine services and went above and beyond to help us with our other needs. Very friendly staff, and patiently answered all of our questions. Would 10/10 recommend to a friend. Bo and Trish are amazing!

First Mate Yacht Services provides excellent service. Bo's knowledge of diesel engines is by far the best I have ever known. I have worked with him from a complete engine replacement to buying pumps, gaskets and filters for various Yanmar's I have needed. Trish, Jim and Jim are all knowledgeable about boat systems and parts and if they don't know off the top of their head they will find out and get right back to you. Great service and great folks!

They are super busy presently & couldn’t get to my Westerbeke generator that suddenly wouldn’t start. Trish in the office helped by getting Jim to call me between jobs. Over the phone, he diagnosed the problem & walked me through, a temporary fix, plus permanent solutions. They went above & beyond to help, even though, they couldn’t get on the boat. Very grateful! Obviously good people.

Amazing service and ability to go the extra mile to find parts we needed for our Koehler boat generator. We will definitely try them first from now on total team effort with smiles and just a fun atmosphere thank you!
