First time checking out Rick’s after finally being in the area during their open hours. The food is EXCELLENT! Our order was correct, hot, and ready when I arrived. Friendly service. We will be new regulars. Thank you, Rick’s Ribs Team! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🔥

I tried this place out this weekend because 1. it was recommended by a coworker, and 2. my boyfriend has southern roots and really loves authentic southern food. The meals did not disappoint, the Chicago Style Tips was delicious and really one order was a heaping helping, more than enough. My boyfriend got the catfish dinner and cleaned the plate, so that says it all about that dish. Can't wait to try the pulled pork and pinto beans. This is a must try if your in the area and love southern BBQ.

My son and I went there and were OH SO HAPPY we did! Loved the food and the employees! We will be back soon! Get there early. Otherwise, you may not get what you want! They run out of food easily!

I was there for the first time and it was delicious! Will be back very soon. They aren't kidding when they say, "we close when we run out of food." We got there at 5:00, and they had run out of a number of things, so get there early!

The food was amazing! The only downside is there is no dine in so I can eat it right away 😂😍

Ribs fall off the bone, staff was so friendly, plus they have a punch card to get a free dinner after 10 purchases. Best BBQ in town, will go again for sure!

I had pulled pork dinner pork was great and they obliged me with extra BBQ sauce.
My two side were baked beans which were good and collard greens were great.
I actually had enough to have lunch the next day !!

The most amazing BBQ and sides! Great portions and I would drink their bbq sauce if it were acceptable. I will drive the hour+ required for me to get here, it is just that good.
Friendly and wonderful service. Reasonable prices. If you care about things like fancy signage and interior decor, go elsewhere. If you want to chit-chat with the staff, they are very busy, so just let them do their work.
This is carry out only, there are tables outside for warm weather.

Ribs were ok… but the rib tips and wings were really good. Wife loved the Mac n cheese, baked beans, and collard greens. Got a lot of food at a really good price…. our new go to place for BBQ and soul food. Thanks Ricky!!

Best rib joint in Rockford and always great customer service. Soulfood Saturday and Sundays are the best!

Usually I don’t rate businesses, but I had to for this one! Rick’s is amazing! They’re always super friendly and attend to all their customers without being asked. If they make a mistake on your order (hasn’t happened to me yet), they correct or reconcile it in any way they can. Customer service is genuine, and the food is amazing. People whom have left reviews saying it was too saucy or whatever is definitely capping. They’re slogan fits perfectly with their quality. Best restaurant I’ve had since Chicago...everything else including commercial spots are not worth it. Definitely recommend this place if you want a quality, well-prepared meal.

Has the Best BBQ around!.. for $75 you can get 2 full racks of ribs and 4 family size side. I got mac & chz, potato salad, cornbread dressing and fries. Oohh and the BBQ sauce is 🔥🔥🤤🤤

This place was amazing! Heck of a good deal; especially considering the prices. The service was awesome and the food was smoked perfectly... Fell right off the boat. Can't wait to come back and try the homemade dessert. The "Love Boat Sampler" was just a ton of food and everything was really good

Lunch was delicious! Absolutely the best BBQ in the state line area. I had the pulled pork and greens and it was perfectly seasoned. My friend had wings, tips, dressing and pinto beans and it was excellent! I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone.

I tried Ricks Ribs for the first time tonight. I will be returning. I now have two favorite and ONLY go to bbq places. One is near where I work. Another small locally owned business. That one is accessible with my big work truck and convenient when I have a taste for bbq while I work. The other one..Ricks Ribs. The food was amazing. Very similar to the one I go to while at work. A little kick to the sauce makes it so delicious. Not too much kick that it takes away from the flavor of the food. The amount of food is overwhelming! The prices are reasonable and the owner treats his customers like family. His staff is also wonderful and you can tell they enjoy working here. I do have a suggestion..save room for desert. Had the crumb cake…soft, moist and extremely delicious. I have three favorite small, family locally owned restaurants here in Rockford. This is one. Rockford may have its issues however, it has some amazing small businesses..restaurants especially.

Where do I start? I am from the South and have had barbecue in Texas and North Carolina etc. This by far is one of THE BEST !!! Amazing food, amazing customer service and amazing prices! Oh and the caramel cake was delicious! As I sit right now I am full and yet still have about 3 meals left. (I don't eat like a bird either). Rick's Ribs is my home now!

The best BBQ sauce flavor I’ve ever had! It’s the perfect balance of sweet with a little spice and tang. Everything we had was delicious. Rick and his team know how to do it right. We are lucky to have this great BBQ spot in good old Rockford, IL!!

The best rip tips. The caramel cake is OMG! Everything I got was sooo good.
