McKay's Chattanooga

McKay's has everything. Books, vinyl, CDs, DVDs, toys, board games, puzzles, video games and lots of electronics. This is a place to spend a few hours and come out with some great things at a fair price.

McKay's is the best place I'd never heard about before! They have tons of quality used stuff that you can't find for a better price anywhere else. I've found everything from laptops to HDMI cords to camera gear to novelty mugs and gifts for friends who are into nerdy stuff, like me. They have what has to be the largest collection of physical media I've ever seen too, and I love coming here on my off days just to see what they have.

McKay’s is more than just a book store. They have anything from records, DVDs, legos and collectible figures; to shelves filled with electronics, phones, cameras, watches, and instruments. You’ll pretty much find everything except a kitchen sink. However the majority of the store is used books which are in good condition and way cheaper than what you’d spend anywhere else.

For the musician, they have a decent selection of sheet music, theory books, classical books, pop, etc. Everything is based on donations so you kinda have to just go and look and see what’s available. As far as the books go, there’s a wide selection of of all genres. They do offer in store credit for donations as well. Come and check it out!

Have been a big fan of McKay’s for a long time. As a notorious vinyl hunter I get my rarest finds in town here, though I will say some are a little pricier than I’d like. Their book selection is honestly tops though, great for teachers trying to build their classroom library for relatively cheap or someone looking to fall in love with a new read. For books, games, or music go check it out!!

If you love nostalgia and deals, you will love coming here. For a store that sells pre loved items, everything they have is in great condition, and if it isn't, they let you know and price it accordingly. The store is exceptionally clean. The number of items they sell and the various types of things could easily become cluttered and unruly. Things here are ultra organized and well kept. I can't wait to come back and find more hidden gems.

5 stars. This store is one of the biggest used book stores I've ever been to. So, a huge selection. There are many, many other good finds, but I mainly come here for their large book inventory.

McKay’s is my favorite bookstore. Though you aren’t guaranteed to find a specific item (depending on popularity/how common it is), they always have great deals and a wide variety to choose from.

I collect blu-ray movies and McKays affords me the opportunity to pawn off titles I don’t want to get others I want on store credit. McKays gives you great buy back pricing. I got $200 for stuff other places only would give $120. McKays has their products well organized, so you can barnstorm searches

Great experience! I stumbled into it by looking up retro video game stores on Google while on vacation with my parents and I found this gem. Games, books and anime for miles!! Not to mention guitars and amps, among other musical finds! Biggest retro store I ever walked into and I hope they expand! Would come back again if in Chattanooga.

Plenty of good finds at McKay's. I wouldn't say it's better than the Knoxville location in any way other than parking. Outside of that it was the same experience to me. Friendly staff and a system that recognizes their inventory so you can ask for help on a specific book you are looking for that you want to buy used but just can't locate. They didn't have mine but they may have yours!

Always love coming to visit McKay's. First time back in probably 3 or more years. My son's first time that he can remember. We have to get back more frequently than we have been.

Wow what a huge selection of vinyls and cds, videos and books. Everything a collector could think of. I see guitars, drums, keyboards, games(both board and video) as well as Barbie dolls and action figures. The shelves are well laid out so you can actually see items. The place is enormous. They buy used books and collectibles for store credit. It’s a must see for collectors and book enthusiasts. Our 1 years had a great time looking through toys and books. This store is handicap accessible with a elevator so the upstairs can be reached as well as wide aisles for easy mobility and a large parking lot and plenty of handicap parking. The store is right off the highway.

Mckay's is the best place to shop for books, music, movies, games, electronics, and the such in East Tennessee. Whenever I am in Chattanooga, I go there. You can trade in unwanted items and use the credit you get to buy stuff, not half credit half cash, full credit. One bit of advice I give everyone, look at every copy they have of something, because the prices may be different.

Good finds, some rare, not always cheap but still fair prices for the avid reader and collector. If you're looking for a quiet bookstore with chairs this doesn't fit the bill but you'll probably find what you're looking for whether it be a book, collectible, game,DVD, cd and so much more!

When we come to Chattanooga we always visit McKay's. Solid place to get it all. Books, cds, comics, tech.

McKays is amazing, you have to go there to actually appreciate the experience. So many things to choose from for gifts, or personal reasons ...reading, board games,collectibles,electronics,just to name a few and .lots and lots more

We love coming here to sell our gently loved books and buy even more at great prices. They also have cool records, Funko Pops, and other collectables, in addition to a large selection of DVD's and video games.
