Punta Cana International Airport

The booked the VIP experience and it’s the best $200 we spent in a while.

We were greeted right out of the gate by our concierge, who was amazing and made us feel very welcome.

She orchestrated the whole immigration thing and we were out of the airport in less the. 15 min.

I absolutely recommend the VIP experience when landing in Punta Cana.

It's a pleasantly different airport. Loved the open to air structure and live music as we landed and during our departure from the airport. Courteous staff and very quick immigration formalities.

Most travelers planning on visiting this destination will be flying into Punta Cana International Airport which is often abbreviated to PUJ. This airport is located within the main town of Punta Cana, however, most of the beachfront paradise resorts are located along the coast some distance outside of this populated area. but you are never far from the airport (except HRC Resort)

within 30-40 minutes, you are covering 90% of Resorts and beaches.

This is usually regarded as the second most popular airport in the Caribbean and the busiest airport in the Dominican Republic.

The airport is relatively small in size but comes equipped with 5 different terminals with varying uses. For tourists, only 2 terminals are for international commercial flights. terminal A & B.

Regarding taxi/Uber: We chose Uber and it was perfectly fine. it costs $15 less than the normal taxi rate, just communicate with your Uber where he is coming to pick you up. when you are existing, these taxi folks will say -' there is no Uber OR pickup is so far from the airport'. There is nothing like that.

Currency exchange is at the exit. if you are staying in a resort, you likely will not need much if any local currency.

Souvenirs and a wide variety of duty-free items can be found and purchased within Punta Cana International Airport. there is a shop for souvenirs - it's expensive and would suggest, picking your souvenirs when you are in the city BUT this place has a wide range of collections.

Overall, small, easy to commute, has clear signs, and no hustle while check-in or immigration - All good

The VIP lounge exceeded all expectations. It offered a variety of food and refreshing beverages.

Nice airport. Clean, spacious, sitting areas. We took APTPRA bus from Santo Domingo to this airport. Our British Airways flight was in Terminal B. The BA counter does NOT open till 3-4 hours before the flight departure time. Which was unfortunate as we had arrived really early, hoping to check-in and relax in VIP lounge

Everything about this airport was one of our highlights of our trip. Remember to complete the entry and departure tickets online BEFORE your trip to the DR. It's pretty confusing but it goes quick. Immigration was very quick and slick. Very nice people. The airport is beautiful, bathrooms are clean and wonderful. On departure had to walk for six miles to the gate but all went smooth. Highly recommend this airport.

When you first show up it's muggy and hot and you can smell exhaust from the plains while waiting for your bags. When we were going home I was taken by surprise at how nice it is in there. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They have a couple smoking sections once your past security and customs which is super nice to have when waiting for your plain.

I've traveled quite a lot, and I have to say that Punta Cana Airport is really nice and clean. It's air-conditioned, the staff is very efficient, and the security check was a breeze. There's a good choice of gifts and Mamajuana in the duty-free shops. There is also a smoking area by the gates.

This airport is really nice, well laid out. The gates are easy to get to except if your flying Southwest Airlines, then you are 3rd class citizens. The VIP Lounge was clean and had great food and beverages. Plenty of seating and they had charging stations at each table to charge up your devices. I also sat outside to watch the planes taxi around. They even have a swimming pool in the VIP Lounge. See the picture. I really recommend PUJ Punta Cana airport. If your ever traveling to Dominican Republic make sure you come through this airport. The others are trashy and in bad sections of the island. Punta Cana is so beautiful.

Traveling into another country can be nerve rattling and anxiety driving, 😰😥 but the DR knows how to handle tourists. It was much more organized than I expected. 😁😃 Landing and finding our ride to the hotel was easy. Lots of people are willing to help and point you in the right direction or help you catch a ride.
On our way back, we were able to go from checking our luggage to hanging out in the lounge in less than 30 minutes. Inside the terminals is extremely busy and loaded with stores and restaurants.
We had some Taco Bell that took about 5 minutes in line. The lounge is super interesting if you're able to get in. They have a pool where you can lounge and watch the planes land and take off 🤯 Not sure how you'd dry off before your flight, but it's a cool concept I've never seen anywhere else.
I'm jealous this airport is nicer than ours in San Antonio! A nice experience overall.

Was pleasantly surprised at how efficient and spacious this airport was. From arrival to being at our gate it took no more than 25 minutes. Washrooms were clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. Found out the airport departure tax was included with our Transat airline ticket so that saved even more hassles. Air-conditioning made the gate area very comfortable.

Had no issues at this airport during embarkation and debarkation. Compared to other places, they were quite organized and efficient. Nice selection of food options too. And very nice, extremely friendly people too. I appreciated that.

Easy breezy. Waited 2 mins for immigration, got bags in 10 mins, and Customs scanned them immediately, and I was done.

Great new airport terminal. It's very easy to check in and check out

Super cool airport, did not spend a lot of time to explore but from my experience it is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Love the open air design here. Was fun to board the plane from the runway.

Wonderful service. Beautiful Caribbean Airport.
It is a long walk from gate to exit.
Arrange wheelchair service with your airline prior to arrival. But as we departed we noticed that they are installing electric walkways. Once through passport control the lobby and transportation is packed with taxi. Shuttles and vendors. Be sure you know where to go if you scheduled a transfer it’s quite crazy. Enough amenities if you have a long wait.

Very nice airport, the architecture brings the local culture, and part of it has a thatched roof, which brings a great smell of nature and a tropical feeling just arriving in the country.
We went there in November and had to use the airport wi-fi before we leave to complete the e-Ticket, and it was working properly.

Great airport and staff is awesome.

Can’t beat the views with all those palms and cozy airport.

Stores and variety is great too and reasonably priced (better then resorts)
Better off buying gifts and souvenirs from the airport then a resort

All are very friendly far from the regular, grumpy, annoyed, and unfriendly staff from other airports.

Gorgeous artwork upon entering. Helpful couriers with bags and security process. Very CLEAN!
