We had a great day at the nature reserve, we got the boat from San Pedro to San Marco for Q30 return each. Entry to the reserve was Q20 each, you can enter the water without jumping in, the 12 meter platform is not for everyone some people hurt themselves when jumping from it, there are other rocks to jump off at lower heights. Bring snacks for a great day out

Sometimes San Marcos makes you want to jump off a cliff. This is where you can do it over and over, to your hearts content.
Great spot for swimming. There is a braaiplace and kayaks, too.

Cerro Tzankujil is a lovely spot to relax to enjoy Lake Atitlán. It costs only 20Q to enter. I would recommend talking a walk around the reserve before picking a spot to swim. You can also jump off the 13m platform.

Lovely spot close to San Marcos. Cheap to enter, and with some lovely swimming spots and a fantastic (if not slightly terrifying) 12m jumping board — definitely worth a try for adrenaline junkies, although be warned about water in your ears! Good spot for a few hours!

Gorgeous!!! Highly recommend visiting this spot, it’s such a nice walk and the nature is wonderful. As far as the cliff jump goes — if you get nervous, i recommend running a 2-4 steps before jumping off the platform. Standing at the edge and *staring* at the vertical drop will not ease your anxiety.

Beautiful park that costs 20Q for foreigners (15Q for locals). There are some trails taking you up to lookouts with breathtaking views and others along the lake where you can find a spot to swim. There are clean bathrooms and changing rooms. Worth a visit and you could even plan to hang out for the day. The ticket allows for same day re-entry.

Very beautiful place and views of Atitlan Lake and volcanos

One of my favorite things I did at the Lake.

Jumping off the platform into the water is the draw here, and it's a huge rush.

The water is super nice, very clear. Jumping with a volcano in the background is amazing. I wouldn't miss this

This natural reserve was my favorite part of San Marcos. If I had an extra day I would have spent it here

Bring some snacks, water, and a blanket and prepare to stay for the day. It feels like the best place to swim as there isn’t any immediate runoff anywhere. There are multiple jump off points so if you don’t want to risk the trampoline it’s ok. Just a heads up- the reserve closes around 4 so don’t get stuck locked inside. (Like we did 😳)

Wonderful place to sit and relax for a few hours. Bring your bathing suit and some snacks, jump from the platform (just don't look down before) and enjoy the amazing view of the lake.

A nice area to spend the day relaxing. there is an option to hike a little and see some miradors with beautiful views. However, the highlight is definitely the big jump into lake. A must do if you're and adrenaline junkie and visiting lake Atitlan.

The best water play place in San Marcos. If you go on a weekday morning, it is very quiet and there are no people. A good place to sunbathe and swim quietly while looking at the lake.

It's one of my favorite places on Lake Atitlan. Amazing, picturesque jumping spot and easy to maneuver waters and exit. Perfect height for experienced cliff jumpers and beginners alike. Entrance for 20Q per person, which is great value for the experience. Viewpoints were a short hike, easily accessible and beautiful, but we spent most of our time swimming and jumping.

The people we interacted with were great. The jumping platform is really nice, but windy the day we were there. We did swim a bit further down the coast, as well as enjoyed the views from the Mayan alter.

Lovely spot in San Marcos la laguna
To enjoy wonderful views of the lake.

The entrance is very cheap and you have access to a great nature reserve.

Climbing up you’ll find a beautiful mirador and lots of nature along the path.

They also have some events and celebrations in this place.

Beautiful nature reserve with several trails, a mirador and a couple of platforms with benches. There’s also a bench right by the water, if you’re looking for solitude. Most people seem to go for the “trampolin” which is a platform you can jump into the lake from (7 meters/ about 22 feet high) but if you continue to walk the trail behind the platform, you’ll get to a spot where you can go into the lake without having to jump. If you do jump from the platform, there are well-maintained stairs to get back up.

To make the most of the 20 quetzales admission fee, pack your bathing suit, a towel, water, a snack, maybe a book, definitely your camera, and stay for as long as possible. I’d recommend going in the morning when the lake isn’t as choppy yet and it’s nicer for swimming.

20 QTZ entrance, but worth it
You can spend a full morning here, swimming and walking to the differents view points with stunning views of the volcanoes and the lake. Very beautiful parc and well maintained.

Beautiful place to swim.

There are smaller rocks you can safely jump off instead of the big high platform
