Il Giardino

Loved this place!! Such a quaint, peaceful setting - love all the flowers and plants. They cater to dietary needs (as do many restaurants in San Marcos). Service on the slower side. But it was fine as it was so beautiful, we just enjoyed our time. Only thing I didn’t care for was the chai tea. The mushroom risotto (made DF) was different but good. We personally aren’t vegan, so could have gone for meat in the dish, but it was okay. Husband offered the pizza which was good! Loved finishing the meal with a GF crepe (filled with Nutella and banana!) yumm!! They do have dogs and a cat wandering around, but it just adds to the atmosphere :)

Really nice. Latte was tasty. 4 cheese pizza was delicious. The eggplant/red pepper/avocado/beet pastes spread on bread was superb. I'll include a picture of it. I am not vegetarian, but this place hit the spot. The young guys were dressed really nice and you could tell they love serving their customers.

This is a must visit if you're in San Marcos, trust me.

We were here for breakfast and dinner in the same day. The ambiance is wonderful. Relaxing and romantic nestled amongst the trees. The wait staff is kind and the service is great. We had the budget breakfast which consisted of eggs on top of bread, spinach and tomatoes. We also enjoyed the mushroom risotto for dinner. The mushrooms were very flavorful and no the entire dish was delicious.

I've eaten there many times. The atmosphere is amazing, and the food is delicious and tasty.
I love to go eat breakfast there and read a book there. Oh, the coffee came with free refills 😍

This place is a hidden treasure. Their gardens are simply beautiful and they food to match. Everything is vegetarian and delicious. We shared the curry, bruschetta and sautéed potatoes. Everything was incredibly tasty. I also recommend trying the ABC smoothie.

My favourite place to eat or just enjoy a nice cup of cacao, tea or juice in San Marcos! I tried many places, but this tops them all. Service is impeccable and fast, food delicious, drinks as well. Staff kind and welcoming.

Best restaurant in San Marcos. Do not understand why others are rated better (we've been to them). Great food and very nice atmosphere

Morning and it was delicious. The next morning I came in for breakfast, coffee and wanted to sit and enjoy my book. It’s a beautiful spot with a friendly staff. I will be back.

I’ve visited Il Giardino several times a year for 5 years. The early discount breakfast is great, the coffee is top notch, and the juiced veggie drinks are the best. I recommend the beet + ginger + other veggie drink. Better than booze, although the hand full of mixed drinks are also good.

One of the best pasta places in Central America. Almost hidden from the main walking path. A must if you are in San Marcos. Delicious, real and very affordable.

French cuisine with Guatemalan influenced this place was hands down the best food I had in San Marcos, nay, on my entire trip to Guatemala. Well done ladies, complements to the chef, there’s something special going on in that kitchen. We had the lasagna and veggie burger. Needless to say both packed a punch, the burger melting in my mouth while the lasagna hit with a savory note and a hint of sweetness from the tomatoes. I don’t know how the chef gets that much savory goodness out of an all vegetarian menu. Por supuesto, vamos a regresar. Delicioso. Excelente. Brillante. No tengo las palabras para describir.

I have eaten here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner too many times to count! Amazing menu for any time of day. Such a beautiful peaceful space that transports you to a garden sanctuary. The staff is so kind and lovely, and if you’re lucky, the black and white cat will come nap on your lap :)

This is my favourite place to dine and to relax and write. The food is good for all meals and I have tried most of them.
But it’s the warm atmosphere and wonderful staff that keeps bringing me back.
I totally recommend this place
