El Dragon Hotel and Restaurant

I stayed here the first time I visited five years ago and discovered the key lime pie. Every time I come back I make sure to have it at least twice. It’s literally the BEA (Best Ever Anywhere). This time I stayed next door and came over for dinner too. I was well impressed by their steak frites with peppercorn sauce. The steak was undercooked at first but they graciously and quickly took it away and brought it back at the perfect temperature. It was really enough food for two, but I was alone so I scarfed down every last bite.

Beautiful location with lovely hosts and fascinating guests. The views over the lake are stunning! Sunrise to Sunset the views are remarkable.

Place was fantastic! Me and my gf loved it, stayed for three days. Gregorio was a super nice man behind the bar, kind and great service. Highly recommend him and the sweet dog Psycho.

Our stay at El Dragon was nothing short of incredible. The staff was amazing & even helped us organize for our friends room to be decorated for her birthday. They baked a cake and helped us celebrate in style!

Views of the lake from our room were incredible & the rooms were great.

A short walk to the “center” of San Marcos and a beautiful yoga spot at the hostel next door.

I highly recommend a stay here!

Breathtaking views with a path to Lake Atitlán. The pastas are made fresh and is divine. Fruit plate naturally grown with seeds. A must have💯

Best Hotel with the Best view of the Lake and Mountains in San Marcos! Lovely sunbathing/relaxation area. Easy to get into the Lake from the their private beach. Wonderful stay! I highly recommend El Dragon. It made my stay in San Marcos. Really not as expensive as people make out. Would much prefer to stay here. Such friendly staff. Treated me like part of the family.

Stayed here for 3 nights and it was amazing. Gregorio and Maria are the best and took care of us for our whole stay, bringing us many many Christmas mojitos and delicious food. Best location for a swim too! Highly recommend :)

Very attentive staff. The restaurant was great to sit right by the beach watching the lake and drinking wine and eating pizza. The pizza was very good and the aperol spritz were nice. We enjoyed ourselves.

Best and nicest place to stay in San Marcos by far. The working crew are so incredibly friendly and will do anything to make you feel comfortable, and Sam (the manager) and Jonny (the bartender) just enhance the experience. It’s an upscale joint for sure with one of the best views on the lake.

Food was delicious and the staff team is lovely. Highly recommend checking out the restaurant if you’re not staying there and having the chicken burger :)

This is the “civilized” pad in posh yogi whirling dervish San Marcos, an exceptional property in service, rooms and location. The front desk manager (Edith) rocks it; great attitude, and gregory, running the bar, is nothing short of Brand building for this Lovely hotel.

Loved it here! Access to the lake, has its own dock. Great food at the restaurant. Room is impeccably clean and beautiful. Overall amazing hotel.

We didn't stay there but we came for a drink and it was really nice. The pina colada was so good. The day after we used their beach and they served us really nice fruit shake. Thanks :)

Never stayed at hotel because extremely expensive, but the restaurant/bar is relatively reasonably priced, and nice location along the lake.

The only thing I have to say is there are so much rocks on the beach but place has stunning views
