A very simple process at a very harsh location and with all the elements doing their best to complicate it all. From the clean seawater to salt using only geothermal energy. You can tour their site like many top chefs from Gordon Ramsey to Matt Orlando, Christian Puglisi have done.

Sustainble sea salt production in the remote Westfjords, the farm is creating salt using geothermal energy and pure seawater. Every step of the process is done manually and naturally wich gives the salt a unique flavour. There is small shop where you can taste and buy products and also hear the story of salt making and the history of the place. Its a must see if you are in the area.

Person who showed me around was super friendly. Purchase some (delicious tasting) salt and the owner did a little something for me and made my morning.

Great little place to take a break and learn about salt making. There’s also a campsite nearby for bathroom breaks. Also the hotel next door has hot spring swimming pools. But you can just go by the seaside and feel the geothermal hot water too!

Great flavours. Saw this little place on an episode of Gordon Ramsey Uncharted and decided to give it a try. Such a great product and going to be amazing Christmas gifts for my dad!

Carinissima ( e minuscola) fabbrica del sale e che produce a quanto pare uno dei migliori sali del mondo. Sul loco abbiamo scoperto che ora ci lavorano 2 italiani di Firenze. Abbiamo fatto una visita gratuita per tutto lo stabilimento ed abbiamo acquistato qualche vasetto. A noi è piaciuto molto.

Che luogo magico ! Fantastico vedere come viene prodotto uno dei sali più buoni al mondo! Ivan ci ha accolto è fatto vedere le fasi di produzione ! Un lavoro bello tosto! In un luogo magico ! Ci abbiamo lasciato il cuore ! E con il loro sale creerò un gelato per una competizione internazionale ! Grazie Islanda 🙏☺ consiglio assolutamente il passaggio!
