A beautiful spot. My sandwich was fresh and delicious. Had a coffee as well to warm up. We watched a gentleman who appeared to be mending fishing nuts while we ate.

We went to the restaurant on the 3rd floor. It's more cafetería style than restaurant, with a self-service soup table. Service was fast, workers were nice. Food was tasty. Great place to stop when driving around the area.

Delicious and authentic food. The lobster soup is a must have! Food is fresh, staff is nice. Plenty of seating. Restaurant is located in the third floor. Soup is self serve, and comes with bread and butter. Highly recommend for a non-touristy, authentic location.

Delicious soups and sandwiches. Visited this quaint gem three times between 2015 and 2021. Only disappointment was that the John Lennon poster was removed in the middle! Hope to be back!

I visited in January for lunch
They had a deal on the soup of the day
It was lobster soup. It was delicious and kept the cold at bay.
This place is worth visiting for the atmosphere. You could imagine wobbling off a North Atlantic trawler that had been your stormy home for weeks, coming in here and being absolutely content.
I also recommend the toasted cheese sandwich.

A fantastic restaurant (3rd floor) right by the Grindavik harbour! The "saltfish" and fish and chips were amazing! Great, unlimited coffee was the best too! The washrooms were also very nice!

I enjoyed really tasty lobster soup. Place is just in front of small fishing harbour.

We stopped in after a hike nearby, the cafe is downstairs and the restaurant is on the third floor. We got a hot dog, some fries and a bowl of lobster soup. After a hike on an icy cold mountain the soup was everything I needed to warm up and come back to life. And you get one free refill!

As Grindavík confronts earthquakes, evacuation, and the possibility of a volcanic eruption, my mind turns to this lovely establishment, its delicious lobster soup, its exceptional bread and the memorable times I’ve spent there. I’m hoping Grindavík escapes further damage and that the town’s residents may return shortly.

Amazing delicious Icelandic food! This was our only dinner out, and we enjoyed it to the fullest. The trout was topped with slivered almonds and raisins, a deliciously unexpected combination. Tiny potatoes in butter, a light salad with the freshest ingredients…😋 and the lobster soup with bread was equally delicious!

Super nice staff, warm and cute inside. The bartender showed us some places we should visit in Iceland, and told is about Icelantic culture.

We popped in late on the way from Keflavik airport to our first accommodation. I read so many positive reviews about local lobster soup so I had to try it and wasn't left disappointed! It was so delicious! My husband really enjoyed the lamb soup too. Absolutely a must visit!

Stopped for lunch on the way from airport to Vik. The soup was excellent. Had both the lobster soup and the vegetable soup. It’s self-service and free refills along with bread.
The other menu items looked really good too.

We stopped for lunch. Parking is a little hard to find but worth it. First floor is a little store and the building seems to be undergoing construction but the cafe is on the third floor, very spacious and clean. We got the lobster soup & fish and chips. The soup was self serve (including bread and butter) and I thought it was a little heavy on the garlic but otherwise delicious (my husband thought it was amazing and no issues with the garlic). We had fish & chips a few times on this trip (this is our first time to Iceland) and I think this place had the best for taste, price, fries, and salad across the board. Great service too. Remember to pay at the counter.

I found this place on Google maps while traveling (looking for local food). As the users say, delicious. The girls were incredible nice and helpful (asked them for places I could visit in the area). Food wise, the Meringue Cake is a must. Simply delicious. And the Lamb Soup is something out of this world, specially on a windy and rainy day. Plus, you can have a refill which I obviously had.

restaurant housed in the sheds of the port of Grindavik, the atmosphere is very nice in my opinion, a spacious environment with a terrace overlooking the port. But the most important thing is the excellent quality food: tasty and well cooked fish dishes! I had the "salt fish" which you can see in the photo, cod with vegetable ratatouille, baked potatoes and salad. My friend had the Plokkfiskur, cod with melted cheese in a ceramic bowl, and it was just as good. The only fault is that it closes at 5pm, so at least until today they don't serve dinner! It's a pity because Grindavik is perfectly positioned now with the volcano eruption, so it would be a perfect place for dinner too. But for me Bryggjan is a 5-stars

We stopped in for lunch. The restaurant is on the third floor and there is plenty of seating and restrooms. The cafe is on the ground floor. If you order soup, they give you a bowl. You serve yourself from a pot near the bar and pick bread up there, too. You get one free refill of soup. Highly recommend the Icelandic Trout. The skin is crispy and flavourful.

The most awesome cafeteria in Reykjanesbaer is in Gríndavik and you feel and eat the spirit of the fishermen.

The only one and the best lobster soup you can serve 2 times and you eat with bread and butter.

Also the open sandwiches are simple and delicious and the famous pylsu ( hot dogs ) of Iceland.

The desserts I don’t has words for describe the delicious that are my favorite the chocolate of Meringue.

Totally recommend and of course all the staff are amazing and kindly and the most of the guest are locals and dine days tourist are near hostals.

Was absolutely delighted to find this restaurant. I was in the middle of photographing an elopement for a couple and we all needed somewhere to eat and warm up. Food here was delicious and the staff were brilliant. You walk through the small cafe/bar entrance and go upstairs and you find yourself in a huge eating hall. Authentic rustic vibes with gorgeous food and excellent coffee. Will definitely be back next time I'm working in Iceland.
