We had the four course tasting menu and it was delicious and beautiful. The waitresses and waiters were polite and attentive and Anni was especially impressive. She added so much to our experience! WARNING - You can't tip on the card machine, so take cash! We were so sorry that we couldn't tip, because they deserved an extra thank you. Highly highly recommended!!

We had booked blue lagoon and lava resteraunt with sparkling wine to celebrate the last day of our honeymoon. We had such a Lovely time in the lagoon we completely lost track of time and ended up with a very short time left. The Lava hosts were brilliant, they let us have a table and what we could order to have the experience of our meal and wine without the stress of time. Very friendly service, very helpful and amazing soup and dessert. Lovely touch to celebrate with lovely view. Thank you

We were lucky to visit the Blue Lagoon and Lava restaurant the day before the last eruption!
The restaurant has beautiful views - it's very laid back! We enjoyed some beautiful food and mocktails accompanied by their delicious bread and Skyr whipped butter - AMAZING! The waiter that looked after us even brought us a second plate of bread, we loved it so much! We felt very kindly looked after during our visit, highly recommended!

To those complaining about prices.. ..you sit on a desolate volcanic rock near the arctic circle, and complain about prices slightly higher than in NY restaurants. Seriously)?

Incredible restaurant with beautiful upscale interior and amazing view of the lagoon. Reservation is highly recommended to ensure dining at the restaurant.

The menu is short. But a long drinks menu. Tries the chicken liver parfait and lamb filet. Both tasted amazing. Lamb filet had two huge slice, soft and tender, cooked to perfect temperature. We got some mocktails. Complements the meal really well.

Throughout the dining, we had excellent service. Food was prepared within decent time. Dishes are very expensive but that’s expected since it’s attached to the lagoon. Totally worth if you are willing to spend the $$$

We tried the four course tasting menu that range from fish to lamb, the food was outstanding, and so was the service. Added bonus with the views! If you cannot afford to stay there, $$$$ it is definitely worth stopping in.

I really thought this would be a rip off for a captive audience. The menu was terrific. The staff was great. The food was great. I’d come just to eat here.

Dining at the Lava Restaurant, overlooking the Blue Lagoon is a special experience. We started the meal with the complementary bread served with Icelandic butter, which was excellent.

We ordered the fish of the day (the Atlantic Wolffish) which was soft, delicious and perfectly paired with potatoes and hollandaise sauce. The cauliflower dish was exceptionally flavorful and delightful to consume. The only misstep was that when we ordered fresh lemonade, they accidentally gave us a glassful of squeezed lemon juice, which was exceptionally sour and impossible to consume (you could make 10 lemonades from that much lemon juice). However, they were quick to replace it when it pointed it out and we got a great refreshing lemonade in exchange.

All in all, a memorable dining experience that we'd highly recommend if you are visiting the Blue Lagoon.

We used the shuffle service from The Silica Hotel where we stayed directly to the Lava restaurant and back to the hotel.

I had beets salad and lamb; my friend took the arctic starter and beef. Everything was well prepared and presented!

Accidentally, I overslept from the nap! The hotel kindly informed the restaurant and we still managed to get a window table with great view of the blue lagoon despite we were one hour late from my initial reservation. 🙈 The entire team was so friendly and accommodating! ❤

We finished our dinner with 2 cocktails and despite being the last table in the entire restaurant we were not asked to leave or settle the bill.

Lava is a delight. The food was very well cooked, delicious and the portions were quite large. We had the 4 course tasting menu and it was challenging to finish, even though it was so yummy. The wait staff was extremely friendly, and the views of the Blue Lagoon were amazing. Also, the cod and langoustine soup were some of the most delicious things I've ever eaten in my life.

I wasnt sure what to expect as restaurants paired with attractions are a hit and miss but this place was so good. The fresh bread, the lamb, the coffee, EVERYTHING was quality and ridiculously flavorful. The staff were attentive and the views from the table were beautiful. Would absolutely come back. Absolutely worth the money

Where to begin, a delicious meal with my mum. It was the cherry on top to a lovely day
We went for the set meal, I had a mix of the vegetarian menu and meat menu as I liked the sound of some of the veggie dishes, but of confusion when explaining but got there in the end. The dishes were gorgeous to look at as well as taste but the salted whipped butter was to die for shouldn't have had so much I was stuffed at the end meal. The soups were vegetable and a fish one, starters were fish again or a pea and leek dish main was a lamb dish, not a lamb fan but it was so soft and not too strong tasting. The dessert was an excellent caramelised fudge like pieces, lemon cake, raspberry sorbet and a lighter than air form.
The whole meal was an experience in itself, very pricey but it's you coming to Iceland it is well worth it if you're spending the day at the Lagoon.

Our favourite meal in Iceland! Before enjoying the blue lagoon, had an exceptional lunch in Lava was the best choice. Love the lamb there, so tender and juicy. And the bread with sea salt cream. Yum yum.
And our waiter was so friendly! Had a great time there.

After taking a relaxing dip in the turquoise waters of the Blue Lagoon, we paid a visit to the Lava Restaurant. The staff is extremely hospitable and competent. We were offered the best seat in the restaurant, which offers a direct view of the turquoise waters surrounded by rocks and thus looks into the infinite expanse - breathtaking!

We opted for the 4-course menu of Icelandic cuisine. Each course asked for a representative insight into traditional Icelandic cuisine and tasted simply fantastic. This restaurant offers an unforgettable experience due to the lovely staff, incomparable decor, tasty cuisine and unique views of the Blue Lagoon. 5/5 recommended!

Great stop at Blue Lagoon area. Good food, great service. We enjoyed our time there! Especially bread & fish was great!

Yes, it was expensive, but also yes, it was amazing food. We got two very tasty appetizers based on fish, and then 3 mains which were very delicate, tasty and filling. For dessert we got a classic Icelandic mousse which we also enjoyed. Coupled with the view, it was a very worthwhile experience! Bonus: the bread with butter must have been some of the best I've had.

While obviously an expensive retreat dining experience, we absolutely loved our dinner!
Service is sometimes slow due to them squeezing in extra guests despite being fully booked. Some might frown upon that but I thinks it's nice they're able to accommodate extra guests who are most likely on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. Especially since on Mon & Tue Moss is closed.
That aside each dish tasted absolutely amazing! As each dish was brought out the server explained their contents. The view of the lagoon & the natural lighting makes for a visually pleasing dining experience.

This was probably the best meal of my life. I had the Catch of the day paired with a glass of champagne. This meal was paired with a celery salad and I do not like the taste of celery, but my compliments to the chef here! I devoured the entire thing. The atmosphere was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced at a restaurant. I always recommend this place when people ask me my go-to spots in Iceland.
