La Chiesa per i folignati è stata da sempre chiamata dei "Cappuccini".
La sua costruzione risale agli inizi dell'ottocento, vari restauri e successivi risanamenti nel tempo dovuti anche a causa degli eventi sismici che hanno colpito il territorio.
Per la storia il suo vero nome risulta essere "San Francesco al Monte".
