If you want great food amazing atmosphere and very good price than this is the right place.
We got mix of starters, 3 main course, portion of grilled lamb and 3 side dish, potatoes, onions and melted cheese (delicious) we also had big water, 500ml of red wine and 2 large beers. All for 78 euro!!!!

The atmosphere is magical you never eat in place like that before. All of the wall and roof is original from mediaeval era.

Fantastic and unique restaurant just out of Assisi. The potatoes cooked under the ashes are unbelievable and you won't find like them anywhere else. Excellent prices.

The most fabulous eatery in the place! Try their lamb it's really good and their carbonara, quite the yummers. And there ambiance is just exquisite! Loved the friendly staff as well!

You can’t beat the atmosphere, the accommodating service, or the food. This is not “gourmet”; it is rustic and basic fare, and on those terms some of the best you’ll ever have. I don’t know what any health department might think of the potatoes roasted in the hot embers of the wood fire (dusted off somewhat before being split open and drizzled w/salt & olive oil), but the taste is incredible! Pastas are very good, and the grilled meat is outstanding.

The Stable!
This is a very rustic, but extremely good place to visit if you're driving through Assisi.
Don't expect nouvel cousine, but expect great traditional farm foods. It's a great experience. Meats are cooked on live wood flame in the centre of the eatery. You're guaranteed genuine fresh meat, soups and vegetables not contaminated with today's trends of canned, sugary blends of pesticides.
You might end up sharing a table with others and you might have to wait outside as they don't take bookings. But you might end up meeting wonderful people who enjoy the same things in life.
You're best off getting there at 7:15 to be first in line.

The restaurant was in the same building of the my hotel, the staff are nice, I asked if they had onion soup the man didn't answer he turned around and got me a plate with a sample to try it :) it was good, and the tiramisu is one of the best I've had. Also they cook in the fire place in the middle of the restaurant.
