Probably the nicest person we've met in Italy served us here. Food was great as well. Please stop by when in Assisi!

If this is is same place I visited on April 2nd, the older lady working the stand mentioned they had only been open for 10 days.

The lady was very friendly, very helpful and for a tourist like me who spoke only English, it was very helpful to have a dialog I could understand since I clearly did not learn enough basic Italian to have a reasonable transactional dialogue.

The location was prime when visiting Assisi via tour bus. It was across the street from public restrooms. It was fairly priced and questions or concerns were addressed.

The lady was super friendly, gave us some Info about the area and helped us learn about a university in a near by town. She heard how we wanted to move there and gave me and my daughter a quick run down about the university for English speakers to help transition into Italian post secondary institutions.

There was no gelato at the time of our visit, but the space and the potential of it being sold was reserved. It was such a convenient location and it made attending the local sights via school tour more relaxing (at least for me). The students who sat with me also bought items to munch on and after 4 days or so, one child who was a picky eater FINALLY had something substantial to eat since we left Canada. This was the first place we could find the boy a hotdog.

It sounds very privledge or selfish to make that comment but travelling with children that are not my own and seeing them get weaker from lack of energy because of food issues: seeing the stall serve hot dogs was a blessing in our situation.

After we got access to a hot dog, he became more open to try other foods but travelling with younger children was a challenge when it came to meal time. This place had quick stop option that was familiar to them.

Again, the lady was friendly, patient, helpful, polite, courteous and she spoke Italian beautifully and quite charming with local Italians. She helped grow our interest in my daughter potentially moving and living her life in Italy and learning Italian language.

We went to this shop at the end of our trip but it was such a sweet goodbye leaving Assisi after grabbing some food and drink from this location.

There was soft drinks, coffee, beer and liquor, gelato fridge, and frozen treat cooler. Lots of snack items and sandwich, hot dog, burger etc. It was a very basic set up but it had tables and chairs outside and made the wait for the tour bus a little calmer with the hint of creature comforts for a tired Canadian traveller.

Thank you.

This place was our saving grace on our trip to Assisi on June 8th! By 6:00 pm we were very hungry, however it is Italian tradition that dinner is not available until 7pm so we were about to settle for just some snacks until we found Francesco Coffee Shop! We were greeted by none other than its pleasant owner who offered such a genuine smile and passion for his job that no matter what kind of food was available we silently agreed to eat there! There are a couple of seating spots outside on a beautiful setting. It turned out that there was lasagna and pasta available and they were delicious and reasonably priced. We were so thankful that we added savory gelato to our orders. If we visit Assisi again we will not hesitate to go to Francesco's again!

Nice little bar and gelato place in a somewhat out of the way location (if you're spending your time at the top of town). Great service and great gelato. No tasting allowed, but you really can't go wrong with any of the flavors! Lastly, considering the quality, the prices were reasonable.

Very nice and local place to have coffee & pastry close to St. Francis basilica so ideal for before/after visiting it. The ice cream is the best I've had in Assisi! the owner said it was made by a local guy, it was so yummy!! 😁

The service was absolutely excellent, they had free, fast Wi-Fi, the gelato was amazing had had a broad variety of flavors from classics like pistachio or vanilla to orange mango and pineapple. I would go out of my way to stop there again.

This little cafe deserves a write up...was there on 8 Oct. 2017. It is small (3 tables only) but the food is excellant and the business seems to be run as a "one man band" by a busy young man who speaks English and gives friendly service at each of his 3 counters.. the gelaterria, the sweets counter and the hot food counter. (also has a toilet at back for customers)

Fantastic gelato and great service. It is a small place with more seating outside than in. And it’s a little off the beaten path as far as walking through Assisi goes but it’s worth the trek.
