Guadiana Valley Natural Park

Very good every level paths/tracks, amazing and still quite a few almost untouched areas, wonderful place for birdwatching lovers, beautiful landscape, friendly people, great food, and so much more.

The the rio Gudiana is my most favourite place in the world. Come and fish it with me ! Wildfishingportugal

We were centred at Mértola,, a lovely town with ancient castle with it's original history dating back to 314 BC, churches through the ages, many hills and walks and we'll tended islands and flowers. Running alongside town is the beautiful Guadiana River, with kayaking and boat trips and a couple of excellent hotels overlooking it.

Beautiful!! Very quiet, only the sounds of nature. We were at Pulo do lobo.

Amazing views and wild river in the middle of dry Alentejo

One of the most precious places in Portugal. Nature in this best. Trails, medieval villages, valleys, a big River, lake shore beachs, rare fauna and flora... Quiet.

What's not to like?

A wonderful place to visit, to get lost, to do hiking and to visit the Guadiana River at Cais da Penha de Águia, Mértola!

Beautiful nature, hiking, cycling, canoeing, swimming (careful with the currents though)... Vineyards, ruins, mines, caves, and springs with healing waters to be visited. Really pure and fresh air, peace and quiet, history going back a thousand years bce and much, much more.

Really beautiful Park. Very genuine and old.
The ruins at the mine site and the lake there were absolutely stunning.
Besides stunning views there are also beaches at very clean and refreshing water.

Portugal in a pure state. Great for trecking but sparse in terms of lodging. The air smells so good, especially in the spring. Avoid the summer months unless you like extreme heat

Very nice town with a mine to explore. If you have a mountain bike all thr better. Fantastic to ride around mine. A mountain bikers dream.

A beautiful find in a fabulous location. Cafe and toilets on site and cooling swims in the reservoir. Man made beach a delight x

Very nice and calm place, it wss very hot (44°) but we enjoy our quick stop there

Really nice town and alot to explore within the town and surrounding areas. Good for walks and also for bike rides. Don't miss it !!!
