OMG!
Drove almost 10 hours in Alp peaks and roads back and forth. It was my best experience in Europe ever. Seems Europe is known by these mountains which mainly located in Austria. It had around 40 Euro toll, but it worth it for sure.

Road was foggy, and looked a bit scary, but enjoyed it. There were some ponds and seats beside them on the way. Good chance to enjoy some times in the nature. Landscapes great. That would be better to manage the time to spend it during the day while driving.
Overall, strongly recommended!

I was lucky to drive along this road both in the foggy weather (planned) and in brilliant sunshine (unplanned). It is so gorgeous there that you do not believe your eyes. I highly recommend this route for beauty overload and awesome pictures :))

Literally bucket list road to drive if you like cars and can find a nice sports car to drive up there.

Keep in mind it only allows cars in to the pass till 20:15. Any later and you will not be allowed in.

We made it 20:06 and the sights we saw were amazing with the added benefit of no tourists on the road.

The Grossglockner High Mountain Road is one of the most breathtaking panoramic roads in Europe. Beautiful wild nature all around. The route of the road crosses several climatic zones. It leads through fragrant dark green forests, past beautiful flowering meadows and massive alpine giants to the Emperor Franz Josef Height (2571 m). Here you can see the Pasterze glacier, the longest in the Eastern Alps. This area is a paradise for marmots, chamois and even rare ibex. This great work of human hands and a unique cultural monument, on its 48 km long route, makes its way directly into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, to Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner, where the fascinating world of glaciers opens up.

It is a paradise for both motorists and nature lovers. A toll is paid for entering the road. And not exactly small, 40 EUR per day for a passenger car. But definitely worth it, and you won't regret it. And when going downhill, watch out for the brakes or you'll lose your lining. :-)

It would seem that we were unlucky with the weather. It was raining and there were clouds and fog. But it didn't matter at all. This place is beautiful even in this weather. And completely different than when it's nice (which we enjoyed the next day). Those mountains in those clouds and fog have a special, unforgettable charm.

Alpine roads in Austria are known for their breathtaking views and thrilling drives. They traverse through high mountain passes, deep valleys, and alongside pristine alpine lakes. Some of these roads, such as the Grossglockner High Alpine Road and the Silvretta High Alpine Road, are considered among the most scenic drives in the world. Enjoy! :)

Fantastic road over the pass, with incredible views. Worth the 40 Euros toll. Spend all day if you like. Weather conditions can be changeable. We set off on the South side, lovely afternoon, however from the summit down the North side it was torrential rain, Which spoiled it for the bikers that we saw.

The most amazing road in Austria 🇦🇹. Iove that along the road you have restaurants, shops with souvenirs and many stops. All the attractions and parkings stops are free of charge.
The toll for the car is 40 euros.

If you're in the area this is a must see! The views are breathtaking as you're driving up and down the road. Be sure to stop in the marked spots, there are wonderful vistas to enjoy and some information and exhibitions to see. Keep your eyes peeled for local animals - marmots, ibus and ever present cows. The mountains and the valleys are amazing.
Some spots are quite cold even during summer, be prepared for that. We spent a good half of the day there and could have spent more. Keep in kind that all the indoor exibitions and cafes close at 17:00.
Of course you'll be at a mercy of clouds :)

Unfortunately, the weather was bad the day I went, so it was very dangerous because I couldn't see the way up, but on the way down, the weather got better and I was able to see the wonderful scenery. The toll is 40 euros, but the second time I got a ticket for 14.5 euros because I came on a bad day. But most travelers can only go once, so it's much better to give them a discount on bad weather days.
