What an amazing place to visit. The views are just incredible. Plenty of parking on the site and cafes/girtshops. Something for everyone. Will definitely visit again!!

Beautiful place, wonderful views, you always leave with the feeling that you have to come back here.
Super views, super roads, excellent restaurant with local specialties, helpful staff, and clean toilets.

Amazing experience that you will have it once in a lifetime. If you visited Austria, then you have to get the experience of driving on that extremely amazing mountain. It costs 40 euros to get into the mountain road. It’s the best road mountain trip in Europe.

Astonishing view at the end of one of the best alpine roads in Austria. Well worth the road price. Also no other expenses for parking.

LET US HURRY TO LOVE THE GLACIERS, THEY ARE VANISHING SO QUICKLY!

That was THE PLACE that you wouldn't like to miss being in the region.
Beautiful, scenic views which everyone can see driving your car up to more than 2k meters!
Usually you can't see that kind of views when your not alpinistic guy, fully equipped and climbing for 12 hours.
A MUST SEE place!

The best viewpoint for Grossglockner and adjacent Glacier. Free parking and access to trails available. Please note the glacier lift may not be operational during the off season. Always make sure to have enough gas ⛽ (or charge) in the car before driving up the High Alpine 🛣 road.

Go there in the morning! No people. The view is different from the afternoon' s one. The exhibitions are well done and enjoyable. Outside was hot so we went in to a room where we saw some little documentaries about this place. BUT THOSE WERE ONLY IN GERMAN😭😭😭😭I hoped at least English subtitles😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔 anyhow that was my only complain. Whis to go there again and again.

I could share a million pictures and it somehow still doesn't capture how beautiful it is here. There's a hotel with a restaurant that is lovely. A panoramic view. The drive up is magical. Please take a moment and say hi to the gentleman in the giftshop. He takes these stunning photographs from there throughout the year and gifted me one of his photographs after I bought a few postcards. It was a bit of an accident that we ended up here, but I'm so glad we did. We also had the opportunity to see a helicopter moving supplies of some sort and seeing the piloting skills navigating the landing and take off was incredible!

There are a lot of great educational infographics of Pasterze Glacier on the numerous information tables at Franz Josefs Hohe.

We stopped on panoramic Kaiser Franz-Joseph terrace for only 10minutes, cause we proceeded straight to Gamsgrubenweg. On the parking lot under Swarrowski terrace quite few chargers for electric cars (and bikes even maybe)-charging is free. Grubenweg is a nice and lite trakinng under "tallest Austrian" and overlooking Pastirze glacier. Saw quite a few marmots and capricorns (Alpine ibex), also Apollo butterfly and one eagel cruising high above. The flora is amaizing-so many mountain flowers of carius colors. After Gamsgrubenweg ended, we hikled to the glacier morena, sadly finding out it is melting fast:( No wonder it was quite a warm day yesterday August 14th. We made it under the hutte (Oberwald? in 2950m) and than just sat down by the mini lake in the tranquility of the nature. Words cannot describe the beauty of Grossglockner surroundings, it was so serene. Clear blue sky certainly improved the experience. Not crowded at all. Entry fee reasonable - 38€.

Best views of the Grossglockner and glacier. Most of the parking places are in the multistore garage (free of charge) which is easy to navigate. The building is carefully made with small impact on the enviornment - with grey colours and glass it doesnt stand out of the nature. There is an interesting museum and restaurant as well. And some options for easy hike.

Breathtaking. I now know what the entry free for cars is 37€. But the entire platform is well built and lots of space to run around. I highly recommend the museums as well, seeing some old cars and history of Grossglockner and it's glacier. Very beautiful!

Once you reach Edelweissspitze and continue you'll reach this amazing place. There's a huge free-parking building, stop all the way at the top (depending if possible SNOW) and enjoy the breathtaking view :) And if you're hungry there's a nice restaurant with good food, amazingly looking dezerts and a view of the mountains right behind you :)

Great viewpoint of the Pasterze glacier and the Grossglockner mountain. Good starting point for hikes. Huge parking garage, restaurant, visitor centre and souvenir shop are there, as well as very steep railway that descends down to the lake (where the glacier used to be). Can get very crowded during summer months. The road to reach it is wide, not very steep, and well maintained. Lots of bikers and cyclists, so drive carefully. I recommend cycling up there if you're fit enough, you will not regret it!

Our timing was absolutely perfect, the alpine road was closed in the morning of 19th of september due to the snow fall. But it opened later that day. Resulting in the best view, see pictures. The parking garage was open but, also due to the snow there was no way to get to the gletscher safely. So we pretty much got the view for ourselfs.
