Wimbachklamm Trail
• Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
• Distance: 2 km (one way)
• Duration: 2 hours (round trip)
• Terrain: Mostly flat with some uneven sections, featuring wooden walkways, bridges, and natural paths.

1. Trailhead:
The trail begins at the Wimbach Bridge (Wimbachbrücke), located near the village of Ramsau. There is a parking area nearby, and the starting point is easily accessible.

2. Initial Walk:
From the parking area, follow the well-marked path that leads to the entrance of the gorge. The initial section is a pleasant 20-min walk through the forest, setting the stage for the stunning scenery ahead.

3. Entering the Gorge:
As you enter Wimbachklamm, the trail transforms into a series of wooden walkways and bridges that have been constructed to navigate the narrow gorge.

4. Gorge Features:
The trail follows the Wimbach stream, allowing you to witness the gorge’s unique features, including rushing waterfalls, calm pools, and dramatic rock formations.

5. End of the Trail:
The trail ends at a viewpoint where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Wimbach Valley. From here, you can choose to continue exploring the valley or return to the starting point. If you decide to continue, the trail further leads into the alpine meadows and offers access to more advanced hiking routes.

Lovely circular walk. Took us about 2.5 hours. Nice halfway point to eat and swim.

Parking fills up quick, so arrive as early as possible. Parking is paid, a short uphill walk, then a seperate token is required for entry. Take cash as the machines sometimes don't like card. Although it's short and not free, DO NOT MISS THIS! It's utterly breathtaking, walk slowly and wait for your picture perfect! Beautiful place. Entrance fee only required if you really want to be near the waterfalls which is a short little stretch.. but you can also skip it and go for a hike to see and hear it from afar, or when you are adventurous enough, there is a little path down.

I did this short hike as a child in 2003 and wanted to return. It is still just as beautiful! It’s a steep walk up a road before you begin the hike. There is a machine up top to pay to walk beside the waterfalls and gorge. I recommend it. There are many other hikes in the area. Wear proper footwear as it can be slippery.

It is such a magnificent place! However, if you arrive by car, it's best to come early in the morning; otherwise, it's extremely challenging to find parking. Nevertheless, a visit is worth it due to its breathtaking beauty.

Just as expected, the hike was short and easy other than a little steep at the beginning. Cool to see the flow of the gorge! They did offer a discount with the Berchtesgaden guest card!

The place is amazing, went there in both rain and sunny day and liked more when it rained.
The place is green and one can visit gorge within walking distance.
Take bus 846 from Berchtesgaden to reach here and further you need to pay around 5 euros to visit gorge.

One of the gorgeous water falls I have seen in Germany. The water roaring sounds is just makes you feel scared as well as happy at the same time. It’s worth the treck. One should pay 3 euros (2.5 euros if you have guest card) to go inside this waterfall.

While coming back you can come through forest or the same way you went Inside. It’s just breathtaking.

A lovely waterfall, just park in the carpark off the main road (€7.00 all day or less if you have a guest card), then approx 300m walk to the entry gate (a few steep section on the road). Remember to purchase the entry token for each person €2.50 which approx 150m from the car park (or only €2.00 if you have a guest card).

We saw quite a few gorges in Germany and I reckon this was the best. A nice walk through the country to get there. We went mid week and had the place to ourselves

Very beautiful falls and even the place, but surprised that it was smaller than we expected. Nonetheless, still worth to visit, and it’s closed to Ramsau, a very beautiful town.

Amazing over waterfall walk!
You need to get a token coin in order to access. It cost 2,50€ per person and you can get the tokens in a machine nest to a house some meters before reaching the access door. You can pay with coins, bills and credit cards.

The walk is absolutely astonishing. Be ready to walk up some stairs. There is a small bridge over the water that is perfect for taking pictures. The whole walk through is only 10-15 minutes.

You find a gorgeous gorge that's wimbachklamm on the way to wimbachklammshloss.. You'll find spectacular view of nature.. In the lap of Mighty alps .. It's roughly 2hrs hiking. You need sturdy shoes as well as proper dresses. You may get wet near the klamm..

You need to get a coin ticket for 2 euro to enter the klamm. It's perperson price. But can get discounts on guest cards. There is a good parking down in the village. And most importantly there is good WC near the parking.

It's small and wonderful panorama. You are going to love it.

About 10 minutes walk to waterfalls from parking. It does not take long. So one hour parking should be enough. Then walking uphill to buy tokens from machine and continue to the waterfalls. Route is short start from left a u come back from top. Very lovely scenery. U do not want to miss this if u are waiting konigsee or if you are nearby. Really must see it's not expensive or though Walk. Easy and amazing
