Restaurant Mateu

We ordered black rice paella and calamari. They were both delicious. They gave us free cakes at the end of the meal!
The waiters were all very polite, and they helped us fill our water bottle. They have an English menu, too.
I don't know what happened here with glasses and a girl's foot as seen in the lower rated reviews, but in our visit, no feet were harmed, but our bellies were happy!
Highly recommended to visit if you're in the El palmer area.

A very nice restaurant with hearty service and great local food! The mixed paella was fresh and very tasty! So was everything else, including burrata, salad and mussels! Highly recommend this place!

When in Valencia, you need to try the paella and this is your place. Super friendly service.
For 5 we ate:
- entrees: Allipebre & esgarrat
- arròs negre (3 portions)
- paella with chicken, duck and rabbit (2 portions)
Everything was super tasty and they brought as biscuit and liquor shots of rice and mistella.
You can’t miss it!

Black squid paella and all i pebre... Could eat this every day. Our waitress was very nice as well, could not really speak English but this was absolutely not a problem as she tried to make sure we enjoyed our meal and experience.

After having tried all the best restaurants in El Palmar for a reservation, this was the only place that had seats available. Quite skeptical at first. The sangria was too sweet but then came the pan and tomato with garlic aioli and it was amazing, followed by Tellinas and stuffed mussels, which were both very good. The seafood paella and the chicken and rabbit paella were excellent. Overall a great experience, service and some very happy tummies.

Restaurante Mateu has a unique combination of delicious and authentic cuisine, great service, nice ambience, affordable prices, perfect location and knowledgeable staff. We really enjoyed our meal there and hope to be back soon.

One of the best palleas I have eaten in Spain (and Valencia). Menu of the day, 21 Euro, (including toast with fresh tomatoes, 1 tapas (free to choose), paella (out of three choices), 1 drink (free to choose) and 1 desert (free to choose). Unbelievably friendly service. It was a pleasure to be there. Recommended +++

They have menu (paella sized for 2 or more).

Very fresh and delicious food. Although the place has more sea food delicacies, even their veggie paella was yummy. We enjoyed our lunch.

We tried 3 different paella’s; tradicional (chicken and rabbit), vegetable and seafood. All three where really good but the seafood version was amazing also we tried a Deserts and the “crema de queso” was out this world.....

Two hot cyclist arrived from Valencia. Let us leave our bikes in their store while we went boating. Great paella and service :)

Food was amazing and staff were really friendly! If you getting the bus from Valencia, make sure you get the 25 bus that heads to La Pamar. The 25 bus has two routes.

Highly recommended. We ate a special rice that is typical from that area (arroç amb fesols i naps). The food was amazing and the staff very helpful, it is also a quiet place to have lunch or dinner.
