Very friendly vegan cafe! They had run out lunch, but they kindly put some sausage rolls in the oven, while we ate delicious chocolate cake in the garden! The sausage rolls were gorgeous! Will definitely visit again to try the vegan burgers

Beautiful secret garden, super chill to have nice food. The Ultimate choccy shake and Ultimate chocolate cake are delicious!! Worth trying and more if you are vegan!

Lovely cafe with a really nice and relaxed atmosphere. Visited a couple of times now. Today I had a brie and grape sandwich and it was absolutely divine. I love the interior. It's inviting and cosy with quirky and interesting items and photos of Durham. A great little place where you can escape the hustle and bustle. Staff are friendly and attentive. Reasonable prices for very nice quality fresh food, prepared to order. Definitely one of those little gems of a place.

Really good food, vegan options, very nice atmosphere and good service

I recently started coming to Bean Social properly after having popped in a couple of times, and love it here. It's relaxed and friendly and everyone chats to each other, which creates a great atmosphere. It has the best coffee in Durham and the food is super tasty - also very reasonably priced. Cute garden too.

One of my favourite cafes in Durham! The owner is really lovely, the food is brilliant and the sensory garden in the back is always really peaceful. So many vegan options as well, definitely worth a visit :)

Charming little cafe. Not tonnes of space so it's a bit tricky to feel like you are socially distanced but the staff do their best to make you feel comfortable. Everyone there is very friendly and personable; each time I've gone in I've been greeted with a smile and a conversation and you feel so welcome. A great range of cakes and food on offer, but it's the tea and coffee I want to return for - it's absolutely fantastic.

Great tasting food, lovely staff and a relaxed environment. The flavour of the vegan scone that came with the soup was amazing. Lemon drizzle cake was delicious. Favourite coffee shop in Durham 😋

Superb tea, friendly proprietor, nice decor, a cosy spot to chill if you need some respite from the chaos of North Road or life in general.
The wee garden at the back is great too, nice and tranquil. Also canny cheap, just a pound for a takeout tea. 👍

A very nice place. The food is not expensive and tasty. The menu is vegetarian/vegan. The staff is very friendly. I was having a cold and asked for some lemon with my tea, the cook went to the store to get some for me because they were out! I was only visiting in Durham but I will definitely come back if I get a chance.

Amazing value for money, very friendly staff, secret garden (who doesn't appreciate that?!) and personal hygiene supplies (including tampons for ladies) in bathroom free of charge. Also loved the gender positive leaflets on back of bathroom door. Make sure you try the chocolate cake, it's beyond delicious! Now I know where my favorite hangout spot is in Durham

The veg*n cafe Durham deserves!! Best coffee in Durham, fab menu, plenty of options for everyone and the staff are lovely. The cafe is gorgeous, clean and bright and the garden is beautiful! Blankets provided for winter. They’ve made it something very special.
