What a brilliant place to go to eat. Went for Sunday Lunch. My god it was fantastic. Brilliant staff. The food served piping hot. 100% will return.5 Stars

Lovely place,staff and customers are very friendly and dog friendly in the bar.I had the best Sunday lunch,all home cooked and not too expensive,the only downside was nobody offered us the desert menu.

Went for sunday lunch with family. Great staff and very good sunday lunch, probably the best around. They were very busy and we weren't offered a dessert menu but apart from that five stars. And friendly locals. And hot plates. Excellent

Our recent visit to The Bowling Green was exactly what we were looking for - a relaxed evening with some pub grub classics. We decided on a burger and a Caesar salad, which were both on point.

Euan, our server, struck the right balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. He was friendly and ensured our orders were taken care of promptly.

The burger was a classic delight - juicy and full of flavor. Paired with a side of crispy fries, it hit the spot. The Caesar salad, fresh and well-dressed, provided a nice contrast.

While we only tried a couple of items from the menu, it's clear that The Bowling Green offers dependable pub fare. If you're in the mood for some comfort food in a relaxed setting, this is a good choice. Kudos to Euan for a pleasant evening.

Exceptional quality of food, service and hospitality. I was amazed by not only the number of dishes available on the menu for a small town pub but the quality, portion size and prices were also a pleasant surprise.

Fabulous food, great service. Had the black pudding onion bhajee starter, what a taste sensation. Tex-mex burger and Cajun chicken burger were fantastic.

Popped in spontaneously for lunch whilst I was in town on business, great food, reasonably priced and good friendly atmosphere.

Refuelling stop for hungry cyclist.

Lads serving were brilliant and food I had was delicious, two points of Moretti also went down a storm.

Total bill less than £30. Would definitely recommend for a grub stop without the frills.

Dined here tonight for the first time in a while.
Delighted with the choice on the menu- didn't know what to pick. Usually i can't decide between two or three dishes, but this evening wanted half the menu. Opted for bellie pork- difficult dish to pull off but it was perfect with fresh perfectly cooked veg. . service could not be faulted - very polite, attentive and charismatic waiter. Well done mark and team ...and long live
" The Bowler"!! . . pleasure to return!

Visited the pub May Day bank holiday, having walked the dog around the nearby public footpath/bridle way and have to say we had a great experience.....
The pub was busy but the staff were helpful, food didn't take too long to arrive and with portion sizes generally decreasing, but costs increasing, we were pleasantly surprised and felt it was really good value for money. Would recommend and will return when we can. Thank you.

Really good choice of food, brilliant service, food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was excellent. One of the best restaurants I've been to. A* experience.

We've been here a few times since moving into the area. A warm reception each time and lovely food although advisable to book if you would like a certain dish as some dishes sell out early on. They serve a great Martini and lemonade, their food is beautifully served and the desserts are gorgeous. Coffee lovely too! We will be regular customers.

This is our go to bar when we want something last minute and local.. great food, always a good choice on the menu. Staff lovely and the kitchen is very accommodating.
