The Old Ford Inn

I am delighted to share my thoughts on The Old Ford Inn. My walking group B123 Walks recently stopped by this lovely inn after a walk in Brecon, and we were blown away by the Sunday lunch and service. The food was delicious and homemade, using fresh and local ingredients. The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere was the perfect end to a long walk. The Old Ford Inn truly knows how to take care of their customers and provide a top-notch dining experience. I highly recommend this inn for anyone looking for delicious food and excellent service.

We’ve driven past so many times it was really nice just to be there today. We arrived for the 1st Sunday Lunch Sitting. Lunches were really good value - £12.95 for either Roast Beef, Lamb or Chicken and a vegetarian option as well. Service was very quick and efficient, but young friendly and very efficient team of girls. All the food came out of kitchen nicely presented and piping hot. Asked for extra gravy which was no problem and we got a sauce boat full! Both Beef and chicken were very tender, beautifully cooked and very tasty and there was a wonderful selection of nicely cooked vegetables. Sadly we were too full to have a dessert afterwards, (£5.95) but the goodly selection of choices on the menu sounded delicious. Next time perhaps ….. and there will definitely be a next time! 🤩 Can highly recommend for good down to earth, no messing about food.

Staff are super friendly and welcoming. Sat outside in the gorgeous sun with an amazing view. Food was exactly what we needed, just normal pub food, at great value. Thank you The Old Ford inn, you were just what we wanted.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, nothing was a bother.
Atmosphere was warm and inviting, busy with lots of customers which was a great sign.
Food choice was plentiful, something for everyone. What we ordered was excellent! We had the lasagne, chips and garlic bread - amazing; good portion, full of meat which was good quality, epic cheesy topping too!
The other dish we ordered was the BBQ chicken, with bacon and cheese - super tasty; juicy chicken, plenty of sauce and cheese, bacon was good. Chips were so good and the right amount in a portion.
We would highly recommend this little gem of a place and look forward to visiting again if we're passing through!

We had the most tasty Sunday lunch. The meat was cooked to perfection and served with a good choice of vegetables. The choice of desserts was good. Excellent service and wonderful views from the dining room window. Would certainly recommend .

Great food, great service and very friendly with it. Good value for money too and the views of the beacons from the conservatory area are superb. Love the place.

Amazing location, great food and really friendly staff. Was a welcome break after a day on my motorbike. The chicken in garlic mushroom sauce was top notch and the staff were happy to chat as I was visiting alone. Lovely. Photo is from the pub car park and beer garden - What a view!!

On holiday in Pencelli, googled nearby places to eat, The Old Ford Inn came up. I rang the same day (Sunday) to book for the last sitting for food at 6.30pm. We both had a fabulous, tasty, filling lamb roast dinner each and shared a strawberry shortcake sundae pudding, all served by a lovely group of ladies. We will definitely book again when we are next in Pencelli, keep up the good work x

Food was very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. The building itself is clean and tidy. Lovely view from the windows. Small carpark. I will be going back again.

Really lovely place. Stayed here for a couple of days for a wedding just up the road (less than 10 min walk to peterstone court if you're in the same boat).

Staff could not be friendlier and the food and drinks were very good. Rooms were clean.

What do you want from a pub? Good food, well kept beer and a friendly atmosphere. Well you get all this and a lot more...! The food is exceptional and well priced. The gravy is to die for - IT IS TO DIE FOR. There roasts are good enough that someone I spoke to on Saturday night said that he travelled 80 miles one Sunday to grab a roast because he had woken up thinking about it. The beer is kept well and you can really taste the difference - there is a select amount of guest beers that regularly change. I had a pint of Doom Bar the other day and it is the best pint of Doom Bar I have ever had. You couldn't get a friendlier place... All the staff are welcoming and will remember you when you next poke your head through the door. Great food, great beer, friendly and without breaking the bank. Happy days.

Charming old pub, incredibly friendly owners and staff that will try and accommodate your needs always. We love going to the Old Ford, for what we think is the best Sunday Roast around the area. Are you a gravy lover and would like extra gravy? not a problem! Would you like a Yorkshire pudding even though you don't fancy beef? not a problem! do you want to add a variety of different sauces to your dinner because you like to enjoy different parts of your meal with cranberry, apple sauce and horseradish, no judgement made, sauces given. A wonderful team, large portions, reasonable prices and homemade beautiful food. We highly recommend having a meal at the Old Ford. I am already jealous of you eating your Sunday Roast 😏

Booked for Easter Sunday whilst staying just outside of Brecon town. Wonderful Sunday Roast and the staff are nice and friendly. Glad we booked as it was very busy and rightly so. We enjoyed it so much we went again for dinner on Easter Monday. Highly recommended but make sure you are hungry as the portions are large.
