Aberglais Inn

Whilst in Garwant e needed a place that was dog friendly & gluten free. Found this little gem & headed to it. We hadn’t made a reservation but the lady who run the bar managed to squeeze out part of 6 + dog in. There was plenty of parking opposite the Inn & inside was really nice. Like a modern take on old country style. Everything was clean & looked quite new. The place was busy/popular & the atmosphere was brilliant. There’s a small courtyard outdoor space too, some of it covered too. The food was amazing. We all enjoyed it very much & the kids also enjoyed a pudding. The gluten free menu has quite a few dishes on it. Prices very reasonable too. All in all we would definitely recommend this place.

They even have a dedicated vegan and veggie menu.
Doggy friendly, so excellent for a nice walk and lunch.
I love the girls there, they always make a fuss of my little one and the one lady lets him come and pick his drink.

Food A ⭐ Wow the Best salt and spicy chicken wings I've ever had!!! Had the whole family here for my mums birthday, they really looked after her, she had an amazing prawn cocktail (her favourite) very generous.

The staff were brilliant and helped us with gluten free and vege options for some of our party.

The steaks and rich sauces were perfect too. They have a nice river nearby which has a lovely walk, they are dog friendly too.

The best chicken burger I've had in my life and I had a chocolate fudge cake which was amazing, I don't really like much food in general but all of the food I had there was amazing and the food was way bigger than I thought it would be which is also good.

Hidden gem. Found this place on the off chance and SO pleased we did. Fabulous service from Claire, food was delicious & not forgetting an ice cold pint. Highly recommend and will 100% be back

Hubby and I had a late valentines meal at the Aberglais. Unfortunately there was a rowdy birthday party which spoilt it a bit for us. However we have eaten frequent there and we know the quality is excellent. There is a lot of choice but I always head to the fillet steak. I like it cooked blue, and I have never been disappointed. Meat sourced locally with the butcher named is always a good sign. Portions not too big but quality is assured. Highly recommend.

Staff were really friendly and accommodating, the pub has a good variety of food and drinks and is in a great location.
Passed it many times but never actually stopped in, not the last time I’ll come here that is for certain!

Glorious find!! Fantastic friendly service. We booked on a Friday, called lunchtime and they managed to take our reservation for dinne the same day. Busy but amazing. Have the signature chicken with brie. SWOON.

A great little pub that I like to visit after walking in the Brecon Beacons. Whenever we've eaten there, they have always delivered great tasting food. There's plenty of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu and their prices are more than reasonable! The owners and staff are friendly and always make you feel welcome. It's dog friendly in the bar as well, just in case you want to take your pooch with you.

I had my birthday meal here yesterday . The food was outstanding the service was excellent and the prices were more than reasonable. Staff were very atentative . Would highly recommend a visit. Will be going back at the end of the month and am looking forward to it......
Last post was 2 years ago. This time we went there is a new chef and they have a brand new menu. All i can say is wow. We all cleared our plates.( Apart from my mother in law who took her fish home as it was a large fish and she had it later)The food was hot and delicious, well presented and the portions were perfect we tried starters,sides and mains but as we had birthday cake we didn't try the deserts. Again the staff were so helpful and made it more perfect. This place is a must for anyone wanting a really good meal and great atmosphere.

What a stunning meal we had at lunchtime today! Warm, friendly service, delicious food in great portions - the homemade lemon posset desert was outstanding! We will be back for Sunday lunch!!

Fantastic wee find.
We turned up with Marley and they were mobbed but still managed to make a table for us.
Food was great, staff really friendly and the place had just the right kind of atmosphere for us after a day of exploring South Wales.
If you are in the area The Aberglais Inn is a must.

We happened upon the Aberglais inn, a wonderful historic inn near the source of the Taf. Beautiful location and fantastic lunch. The Aberglais Chicken and the Chicken with bourbon were well presented and delicious. Will return!

What a great Saturday afternoon Birthday meal. The Gammon with egg, pineapple and onion rings, plus a peppercorn sauce was very, very good and not forgetting "Eddies chips" which are the best in the Valleys was a real feast. With Gaynor's Lemon cheesecake desert to finish, I was full til the following day. Well done team, we're local and will be back en masse. Daiawn Aberglais.

The lovely owner Cliff opened the pub just for us on a rainy morning. We were a little lost and needed a coffee, break and a bit of direction. His saying on the bar is 100% true - Enter as Strangers. Leave as Friends.

Amazing place, and such lovely people. We turned up after the kitchen had closed with nowhere else to go, and they reopened it for us and made the three of us a fantastic curry, and then even drove us 4 miles back to our Airbnb at 10.30pm after some great pints. Fabulous experience and so overwhelmingly kind. Would definitely recommend!

Managed to get a table here this evening. Very friendly and welcoming and the food just delicious. We were very happy. Although gutted we didn't have any space for dessert.

Can not complain about anything the food was lovely and hot the service was brilliant and the staff was very friendly will tell friends and family about yourself
