Pets at Home Merthyr Tydfill

Great store, been good few times. Went today and as always Very helpful staff with advice on pets, and product enquiry with pre-ordering extra cat litter which currently strugling to get in due to Ukraine war but have managed to take our contact details so as to order some in for us.
Store itself is spotless and easy to find what you need with plenty of choice ranging from cheaper to better quality products and pet dietry needs.

Very friendly staff member served with a Betta Fish from a small selection available. All looked pretty healthy which was reassuring.
The right questions were asked regarding my setup, which I always like to see as it shows they care about the conditions the animal will be kept in.
Overall a nice experience. Sorry I didn’t get the gentleman’s name who served me, but he was very good at his job and clearly enjoyed it.

Went in to get some new stuff for the new pup and spent loads but it was worth it quality at a good price

Great choice of puppy food and everything puppy related. I find the products expensive, but the app does help soften the blow from time to time with the offers that are on there.
There's plenty of space to park, and the shop has never felt overly busy each time I've visited. My dog also really enjoys coming along with us.

Really nice store, majority of the staff are really engaging and polite. Pet friendly, great to take the dog. Lots of different price points on toys and treats so something for everyone

Always have a brilliant service in pets at home down stairs always has lush products for reasonable prices and also the groom room is amazing with my chow chow I always have good feedback regarding her stay there and they take pride in there jobs xx

Let me set the scene... April 4th 2015, my birthday. Me, Big Tony, and Narrow-Shoed-Sam was walkin' down the streets of Merthyr for me berfday, whens a doll catches me eye. A dish cookie, with voluminous, blonde hair with dark stripes and gold-rimmed round specs. About my age at the time, stocking the dog toys. Big T tells me "You's guys go make a grandstand, me and Chrome Dome (Me pa') 'ere'll watch the hog". So Sammy and I's about to mosey into the join when Sammy chickens out, and heads back to the car. I knew at this moment, this would be tenuous, as the NSS is usually an ace. Now, I'm usual dreamboat, a ducky shincracker and I'd like to say quite the dish myself, So I was still confident in my ability. I's stroll into the pets at home and approach her. But my knees get weak and I get nervous, so I ask her "Where do ya's keep the monkeys?". It was the first thing I could think of, but I got too nervous to tell her how I felt. She takes me into the back room, I was honestly surprised they actually sold monkeys there. If memory serves there was some giant pacific octopods, a couple of pandas, a kangaroo, and a giant squid. Whilst we was standing behind the railing, looking at all of the illegal fish jump by, I finally gather the moxie to ask her the question. I turn to face her, as I thought this was the moment, and am greeted with an Astra M44 right in my schnozz. She says to me this is what she says she says to me right she tells me she's a hired assassin, trying to off me and the gang. Despite barely knowing the dame, I couldn't help feeling immense betrayl. Fortunately I'm a master in Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Aikido, Hapkido, and Jeet Kun Do. I disarm her immediately, and she blows this huge horn, all of's the animals break outa the cages and starts jumpin me! That's when Big T and Narrow Shoe Sam bust through the ceiling "We knew somethins was off, so we's come to rumble witcha" We form a circle and each fight at least 10 animals all at once! We obviously came out on top, and the only one left was Specky, she was completely defenseless, and I was about to blow her to bits, but I couldn't bring meself to do it. We've been married 4 years now and I bought a hamster for the stores troubles. His name was Pibbles and he ran into the fireplace as soon as we got home.

I would like to thank the wonderful girls that came to the car to put our beautiful poppy to sleep it was all done with dignity and respect I dont no your names but thank you so much lol Chris and Gwen .

Very friendly and helpful first I seen a lad called Rhys and he give me so much help and advice then I went back and seen zac he was also friendly and helpful

Took my dog max for a wash and dry again and as usual a excellent service 👍, and got a 12kg bag of wagg,s and a surprise dog toy

Young lady on checkout was excellent she setup the pets at home app on my phone for me. She is a member of staff that went over and above. We'll done .

Fab, we visited the groom room there for our puppies first groom. She looks adorable and didn't stop wagging her tail. She definitely deserved a new toy to add to her collection. Booked her in for next month too x x

Amazing shop but this is mainly the staff that works there! Ever since I had this puppy they all loves him and are very helpful. They are willing to speak to you and about your dog/puppy and will help you get the best food/brush etc and even show you where they are in the store. Very good customer service and never had one problem with these guys! They can also have a laugh and a general conversations, You can not go wrong with Merthyr pets at home! They will answer all the questions you got for them and even explain how and why etc. I even just go in now and hand my phone to them at the tills for the vouchers and VIP and they say what they done

Great place, I've been going here ever since they opened in merthyr, great choice of pet products, all animals look healthy and happy, prices are good and have a good loyalty scheme with regular offers through the vip app, staff are all friendly,happy to help and are very knowledgeable

Loved this shop when my puppy was alive miss taking him here and buying his treats great choice of pet things and they also love ur animal. My "GUS" loved going here. RIP my beautiful HANDSOME BOY 💙❤💕😘

Graet store plenty of choice, but very expensive as with all pets requirements

Thank you to the two members of staff who held the My Pet Pals workshop today, they were brilliant with the children. It was very interesting and the staff were very kind and informative.
