Bush, Blackbird & Thrush

Really enjoyed a family meal here yesterday. They are so friendly and welcoming, including for children and dogs (dogs bar side only but still cosy this side with a wood burner when it’s cold). We had pie of the day which was really good, and our fussy eaters were kept very happy. When it’s warmer they have a large outdoor area with space for children to run around and explore. There is also a large marquee. Parking extends into the back field when it’s busy, though there’s some lovely walks to enjoy before you get to the pub. Can’t recommend highly enough, we’re lucky to have such a nice pub in walking distance of East Peckham village.

Decided to succumb to a last minute Sunday Roast craving and fortunately Bush, Blackbird & Thrush had reservations available!
Lovely quaint gastropub, always with really pleasant amicable service.
We’ve been here once before we were really impressed with the range of cocktails using our favourite Copper Rivet Distillery spirits so we were a tad disappointed that these are not available anymore. Only frozen cocktails available at the moment which I tried but was not keen on.

However, the food is still as incredible as ever! They kindly catered to my peculiar request of the Veggie Roast with a side of pork 😆 and it was amazing - cleaned up the plate!

There was a lot of buzz there as they had a dance group practising outside which was rather unique to watch.

Can’t thank Harry & Marit and the wider BB&B staff enough as they went over and well beyond normal service to make my daughter’s birthday 18th meal a very special occasion. Thanks you so much. Phil & Carla

We found this pub on Brit Stops and stayed overnight with our campervan in the backyard. The hard working owners are super friendly and made us feel very welcome. They offered us a fresh cup of coffee in the morning, although the pub was still closed. :) Furthermore, the setting is lovely and there is a nice choice of beers and food. Highly recommended!

We had previously been to the Bush, Blackbird & Thrush and regretfully didn’t publicly recommend it, though we certainly should have.

We visited on Saturday evening (12th Aug 2023) having made a reservation for a 4 person table, we were fortunate that the occupancy was around half capacity and consequently had no waiting time. We were shown to our table and provided plenty of time to decide on drink and meal choices. The food arrived in good time and was served at the perfect temperature, we had a variety of meals that included meat and fish.

We wouldn’t hesitate to return and offer thanks to our waitress who was very accommodating and friendly, as well as the chef for providing well presented and enjoyable meals.

It should be noted that disable access is ideal and there are flush thresholds throughout.

First time I have visited this pub but had a fantastic meal here after a walk with the Teston hikers, the service and food was first class, I didn't hear single complaint from any of our 22 strong group. I recommend them fully and will definitely visit again.

A fabulous find. The people are very friendly and welcoming, the food is out of this world and I have added one more place to a very small list of superb pubs. We are definately coming again.

New ownership. We came here for lunch on Father’s day. We were given a table inside,
on a rainy day, but we chose to have our drinks outside whilst the kids played and looked for rabbits. When our food was ready (wasn’t long at all) the friendly waitress came and got us. The roast was unbelievable. After our lunch we went back outside and had more drinks. We will 100% return. Thank you all for a great day.

We are local to the area and love coming to the Bush for a few drinks and/or food. Great atmosphere and always very welcoming to people and animals. Our pup loves going there and loves Harry and Maritt. I would highly recommend a visit.

Wow, what a gem of a place! Fantastic homemade food delivered with a warm welcome and a super-friendly atmosphere. With an excellent (enormous and safe) outdoor space for families to enjoy. A proper pub. #niceJob

Visited this evening and was pleasantly surprised. Very warm and friendly welcome from the only server there. Was served a drink straight away (which was a welcome 🍺). Had the white bait and then the chilli. Food was very quickly served, piping hot and of a very good portion size. Will definitely be returning, well worth the money for the food and atmosphere

Lovely pub, log fire, excellent seafood and chorizo stew.

Maarit & Harry took over in late June ‘23, so just finding their feet as first time landlords, so good times for the future.

Main menu is expanding + daily specials, limited Shep Neame ales at present (get your act together SN!), a modern pub but good atmosphere and re-building a regular clientele … so trust it all goes to plan.

I had the King Prawn Linguine … hot, spicy & garlic … magnifique!

Food cooked until 9pm, Fri & Sat.

… and Harry always wears a flat cap.

Just had lunch with my son. Excellent food and lovely staff. Will be back there soon.
