Words cannot express how awesome this place is! The local community have put so much effort into the restoration of the railway and into setting up this facility and maintaining it. The volunteers were hard at work when we visited looking after the absolutely stunning gardens.

There's something here for everyone: a little train, museum, wonderful cafe, gardens, woodland, a plant nursery....

It's absolutely beautiful and we will definitely be back ❤

The heritage blaze.of really come on in recent years and Steve cramp and his team have done a wonderful job. Beautiful peaceful gardens in an old quarry setting is definitely worth a visit. Be sure to bring £2 to gain access to the railway ride!

Super Museum with a lot to see. The pictures are of the unique 1834 Stephenson wagon lift being reconstructed.
I know that's a specialist interest but don't let that put you off! Lots of things to do including a lovely woodland walk and the very pretty new garden.
Our 2 year old granddaughter loves the place and there is plenty to keep her amused.
The excellent café is well worth a visit in its own rubbish right.

Interesting, well maintained and great for kids. Some walking, not too far, with varied and well thought out information boards (including QR code links). Some old railway stock and other artifacts well displayed.
A nice cafe with excellent food.
A train runs in the season.
All volunteer run.

This is a gem of a find. For a £2 adult entry, we could have spent the whole day here. The food is lovely, too… with lots of quality cakey options, including gluten-free, which is a bonus for us. It’s great that all this has been achieved by volunteers and so should be applauded and rewarded by supporting such an educational and historic location.

Lovely spot. Bought some plants for my own garden for next to nothing. Beautiful display of planting around the old railway line. Nice cafe doing tea, cakes and ice cream.

Took my wife and father-in-law here for some lunch and a walk around. It was really nice and the food was excellent. Yes, the food was quite expensive but it was good and all profit goes back into the charity so I didn’t mind. We had a little walk just down to the railway engine shed and watched as they were shunting trucks around which was nice to watch in the sunshine. Altogether a very worthwhile and enjoyable couple of hours

Kids loved it! Loads to do! If you take your time you could be there for hours! We arrived about half 11 and stayed till around 4. Cafe is a little pricey, but the food is good quality.
Loads to do and a fun day out.

We didn't know this place existed. It came recommended and local to us and we're glad we visited. Before entering the trails you go through the cafe shop and what a nice looking stone building it is too. The trail to the top right is where the kids can build dens with sticks and branches lovely trail full of Blue bells. Also a nice seating area at the very top. When you follow the path down below there is a small shed with information about the quarry etc also an engine shed with trucks and a shunter in. Over to the platform across the tracks is another trail with some information sign board's. Along the way there's some bird boxes and bat boxes and a nice seating area. We saw people with buggies on the trail and they didnt have issues. A lot of thought and effort has gone into this place and it shows. All in all a fab afternoon out, would deffinetly recommend.

Great place for a family outing (especially for train lovers). Our toddler loves it, especially the garden railway. The cafe is lovely, with a good selection of food and drink. Maybe not the cheapest, but everything we’ve tried has been delicious!

Only ever use the cafe and the seated area outside. Cafe is expensive, but then again most are these days. The seated area is so much nicer since they covered it.
