Addyman Books

I absolutely love this bookshop, it is always on my list of places to visit in Hay. Anne is lovely and well known in the Bookstagram community, you are sure of a warm welcome if you mention you are a fellow bookstagrammer (I wasn't brave enough). Be prepared to spend a few hours browsing the many rooms here.

Never been, found them when googling a book I been searching for for years. They had a copy & happy to post to me. Ordered Thursday afternoon, book arrive Sat morning, very well packaged. The book was in far, far better condition than I had expected and better than the one lost many years ago so am delighted. No doubt about it I will definitely try Addymans for any future needs. Excellent!

This bookshop was my favourite from my trip to Hay-On-Wye for several reasons! Not only was the staff absolutely lovely, telling me about book sculpting and showcasing their gorgeous BLM display on postcards galore, but the interior and sculpting of the bookshelves and walls are gorgeous too. The Transylvanian aesthetic is to die for, and the book selection is lovely. Plus.. you know a bookshop is great when you find dogs looking this happy outside - the energy was radiating. Whilst other bookshops here are more conventional, and this might not be to everyone's taste, it's to mine, but you might be surprised because of the diverse selection of books. One to visit for sure!

I always return here as its an essential for a trip to Hay. They have atleast 3 bookshops within the town and they're all great with a extensive collection of books. They have a big range of sci-fi which I love, their murder mystery bookshop (across the road) is also a necessity for any fanatic. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

One of the jewels of the Harry on Wye crown. Addyman books has gone to significant lengths in creating themed rooms for their varying new and used book collections. The available books and quality is impressive. This store is worth visiting if only for the themed decorations, but also for the availability of books.

My favourite bookshop. Can't wait to go back soon, I've been a visitor at Hay since a friend told me about it in the 80's and Addyman books and their other shops (Murder and Mayhem and the Addyman Annexe) are all must visit shops, the heart of Hay.

My partner and I've been visiting Hay for years now (she's a bookworm)... Whilst I don't count myself in the ranks of a 'literary' connoisseur; I do flick through a couple of books now and again; and Hay-on-Wye is just that; a beautiful little Town of Books. You know that odd, charming, querky little independent bookshop you bump into that's hidden in the concrete jungle? Well, think of a sleepy village set in the picturesque countryside bustling with those kind of shops! And in that great little town, Addyman's is a must stop destination. I've lost count the amount of times I've walked past that shop window and caught a glimpse of a beautiful book that I had to have. A great selection of books to inspire all sorts of interests.

THE best book shop in the world... they even have a team of Santas Elves deployed here at Christmas to help with your gift shopping! No amount of stars would be enough! Anne, Derek and team we salute you x

That upstairs front room is definitely a 'happy place' - including the big comfy chairs! I like the bargain book alley but a bit concerned it seems to be organised by book spine colour in recent years?!

Packed to the roof (almost) with every crime author you have heard of, and many more you haven't! See the criminal in you reflected and watch out for the horrors as you creep upstairs! Lokout out for the wonderful shop window model. Browse and be horrified!

Great team, great selection, just Great all round!

Best bookshop by far for decor. Loved the quirky interior. Also enjoyed the murder and mahem branch across the road and the £1 bargain alley.

Anyone who visits Hay on Wye but fails to visit one of the three shops in the Addyman empire, has missed one of the riches of Hay life. ⭐⭐⭐

Good range and selection of books, casual new and second hand books as well as collectable titles.

Love this place, and their other shops. Great selection, knowledgeable staff, and reasonable prices for good quality.
