Oishii Japanese Restaurant

I went for dinner here with my partner last night and it was fantastic. The food was delicious, the wine was great - I would highly recommend the Katsu Curry! We are new to the area and definitely will be coming back here. At the end of the night I left my bag at the restaurant and the team were kind enough to drop it to my house that evening. Could not recommend enough!

Came here for a date night with my other half before seeing an orchestra at The All Saints Church.

Had Chicken Yakitori and Gyozas for starter

Sumiaki Serloin Steak and Salmon Donburi for main.

Sides were Kimchi, Wakame Salad, Egg and Garlic Rice and Mixed Japanese Salad.

Drinks: Sparkling Water and Sapporo.

Overall, the food, atmosphere and service was great. The gent serving us was amazing and paid close attention with our order as well as asking if we had any specific dietary requirements.

The only thing that was off putting about the evening was a pair of teen girls sitting there giggling and stabbing their food with chopsticks creating a bit of a scene. Not really how you should conduct yourself in a small restaurant, but what can you do?

Great food, friendly service. Owner Elle gave great recommendations - we came in for a quick lunch as the lunch menu looked good with bento boxes etc but ended up getting a sushi boat! Fish tasted really fresh which is a must.

No immediate parking outside (only max 30 min stays) but there was a parking garage round the corner so it was still quite convenient.

Lovely atmosphere and great food. We all had seabass which was delicious. There was a little mix up with our order which was promptly resolved with the utmost care and courtesy. Definitely a new favourite place. I had a lovely quiet evening with a couple of friends.

A very rare find outside of London. With great tasting sushi at a reasonable price. Between 6 of us £45 each left us very full and satisfied. The only issue was quite slow service however it was a busy Saturday night. Perfect otherwise

Excellent sushi, lovely staff and nice atmosphere.

A really lovely restaurant for sushi fans. The staff are friendly and Elle the owner frequently says hi. The food is just amazing and living outside London it's great to have a local Japanese which isn't too common. The sushi is fresh tasting and the presentation is lovely with a wide selection on the menu. The sushi rice is always slightly warm which is just how it should be and to top it all of the restaurant has a very unique look and setting. Well worth a visit.

Everything about this restaurant was amazing. The food portion was perfect and tasted great, the atmosphere felt authentic, and the staff were incredibly friendly. If you are ever in Hertford I highly recommend checking out Oishii. 10/10 place, will be eating here again.

I treated my daughter to a meal out. She loves Sushi and I love Japanese food. We shared the dumplings to start and we had a Sushi cone and Chicken Katsu for main. Love the place, love the food and a big hit with the daughter!

First time. We had sushi, katsu don/curry and mochi for dessert. I was ready to be disappointed by something but, hey! We were not! :D We drove from Stortford as the reviews are amazing; they are not wrong.
I have to say that the sushi needed a bit more vinegar ( might be my personal taste! Do not get offended, please) but other than that no complaints at all. The place is small and beautifully decorated. I know we will become regular customers from now on :)

Hadn’t been back from Japan for long before going here and honestly I felt like I was right back there. Food was amazing quality, and surprisingly affordable for how good the food was! Going again in a few weeks and probably again after that

Have been here a couple of times before lockdown and was super impressed, went again this Tuesday, lovely atmosphere, fantastic food and service. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

I had never tried Sushi before my visit to Oishii, but if the last year has taught me anything it is to embrace life and try new things. We came here for my birthday, and my first Sushi experience was out of this world. The starters really set the tone for the rest of the meal, and then the mains arrived. I've already got another visit to this restaurant lined up. If you don't like the thought of raw fish, don't panic - there are plenty of other options available too with either cooked fish or other meats (we can personally recommend the duck).

Fantastic, fresh & authentic sushi. The atmosphere was great and we all enjoyed ourselves very much. Also the price was reasonable when considering the quality.

Incredible sushi. I’ve never been so blissfully full in my entire life. Would 100000000% recommend. Also the server Callum was wonderful. Deserves a raise! He was so kind and friendly. Made us feel very welcome. Also such a lovely atmosphere. I felt extremely relaxed on top of eating insanely delicious sushi.

Superb food, excellent services from friendly staff, beautiful setting and atmosphere

Amazing sushi! Went into store to collect for the first time & had lovely service. I was greeted by the door & social distance was well implemented & plenty of sanitisation was provided. Never had sushi from here before so i was reluctant to order so we decided to order 2 types of sushis. Service was very quick, i was in & out within 10mins.

Once we got home, we instantly regretted not getting more! The food was really good and even considered driving back to get more, I will be back again!!
