Sole & Duck

We had a fantastic lunch at Sole & Duck. For starters, we enjoyed the Crispy Aromatic Duck, which came with hoisin, cucumber, spring onion, and pancakes—it was delicious and perfectly prepared. For our mains, we ordered the Fish of the Day and the Hereford Beef Ribeye Steak (9 oz). Both dishes were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing.

The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. The interior is really pretty, creating a lovely dining atmosphere. Additionally, we appreciated the good-quality hand sanitizer provided at each table, ensuring a clean and safe dining experience.

Lovely local restaurant just down the road, I haven’t had many good experiences with roast dinners here in Cambridge, but the roast dinner here was delicious! Everything cooked well, lovely vegetables and an amazing sticky toffee pudding. Service was great and I will definitely come back again. :)

Last weekend we had our friends surprise wedding anniversary dinner at the Sole & Duck. The staff were brilliant pre-planning the event for 12 people. On the day it went really well and we could not have asked for better food, service or weather! We were seated in the private dining room and it felt as though we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. We will definitely be back and they were very accommodation to our food needs if any changes were made to the pre ordered menu.

Really delicious food, great selection on the menu. I wanted to try all the starters! Food was cooked well. Service was fantastic and we felt very looked after. Our server Jack was very lovely :)

Highly recommended by my friend that lives in Cambridge, this restaurant appears seemingly rustic at the outside, but surprises you with an absolutely delicious meal. From the starters, main, wine, all the way to dessert, everything was beyond perfect. Went out of the usual duck plates (they are popular for this they said) but I ordered the tiger prawns to start, catch of the day and vanilla parfait. Very very delicious!!! I would eat here again (and again) not just for the food but for the great service too!

The service was amazing. We went there on Sunday and we tried the Sunday roast. The beef was very nice cooked and the dessert beautiful. However, the beetroot tartare as starter in my opinion was one of the best. The price is very worth.

Had a wonderful dinner here with our friends last week. Once you walk in, a modern deco yet with a cozy ambience. A great selection on the menu, food looks amazing as well as drinks, especially the seafood. Crispy duck and garlic butter prawns are must try. We also had the chance to try their festive seafood menu, Delicious! Everything is up to high standards. Owner and staff are friendly, professional and attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We regularly come here to eat. Easily the best Sunday roast in Cambridge but the whole menu never disappoints when we come during the week. The wine list is comprehensive. The staff are fantastic and the restaurant is very comfortable. There is a large garden outside so we can bring the dog who is welcome too

We've had meals here several times and each time everything was perfect. The staff is very friendly and professional. The food is excellent (the tiger prawns are definitely the menu's highlight!) and the service is second to none. Compared to other restaurants in Cambridge, it is a bit pricey but in my opinion it is definitely worthy. I love the location because specially on a weekend the last thing I want to do is to spend ages stuck in traffic and looking for parking in the city centre. Here I don't have to worry about that. It also doesn't get as busy as other places so we've been lucky enough to always get a table even as walk-ins. For all of these reasons I've been hesitant to share my review, since I wanted to keep this little gem to myself for as long as possible but I do think they deserve to be recognised and have lots of success so here it is. If you don't trust me, just go and try it for yourself ;)

Best place for dinner around Cambridge. You don't need to jam into the busy city centre and still get fantastic food and service. Very friendly staffs and cozy atmosphere. We went as a big group of 10 and everyone enjoy it very much.

Absolutely fantastic experience at a competitive price given the quality of service and food. I had the lamb as a main, tuna tartare as a starter and cheesecake for dessert. Honestly could not fault any of them, some of the best lamb I've had. Really relaxed quiet atmosphere at lunch service ideal for a small group of friends meeting for a nice lunch or dinner. Suited us perfectly.

Very nicely laid out surroundings give a very relaxed feel. We came on a Sunday and went for the beef roast, which I must admit is the best roast beef meal I have ever had in a Cambridge restaurant. The service was friendly and food fantastic, I would recommend the soft shelled crab. Definitely worth a visit.

The food was outstanding, full of flavour and presented very well. Waiters and bar staff were extremely welcoming and friendly from the moment me and my fiancée stepped foot in the door to the moment we left. Food is fairly priced for what we received.

Building as a whole was very clean, warm, looked very nice inside and out and felt very homely.

No tip put on the bill which encouraged me to leave a tip as one wasn't asked for. Fantastic experience, thank you very much. Will be returning.

This is a great restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were very friendly. I’d particularly recommend the granola sundae, the Korean chicken and the fantastic selection of wines. I would definitely come back here.

My first time here. The decor is very nice and relaxing. The staff are very pleasant and attentive. The food was really good well cooked and nicely presented.

The place is lovely, the service and the food are exceptional. The price is more than reasonable for what I was served. I have to say I went on a relatively quiet evening so the experience might have been different if the place was busier.

I had the crab, prawn and avocado salad as starter and the breast and confit leg of duck as main. The quality of the ingredients was superb, everything was very tasty and cooked to perfection. The duck breast was extremely soft and juicy. The salad was an explosion of flavours that really reminded me of the sea - it was really something special.
The staff was very professional and the service was superb. The place was very clean and the staff was very careful cleaning and igenizing the tables between clients. The location is lovely although I have found it a bit too noisy indoor despite the place was only half full, and outdoor it was a bit noisy too due to the location next to the road. I sat outdoor in the end and it was still very pleasant despite the background noise of the cars.
Definitely one of my favourite places in Cambridge from now on. Also note: there is a big parking space reserved for the clients.

My family had the Sunday Set Menu and every dish from both starters and mains, were amazing. Especially, the Korean Chicken and Tuna Tadaki were our favourite. Will definitely visit again very soon.

We went to the restaurant for my partners birthday tonight and all of the staff were absolutely lovely. There was a small error with the food and they were exceptionally gracious and helpful. We look forward to going back soon as the food is exceptional and every time we go we have a super time.

One of the nicest place you could have a meal whilst in Cambridge. The restaurant's pub exterior is deceiving as upon entering, it has an elegant and understated interior that gives you the impression you're going to be in for a treat.
The food is a wonderful fusion of French and Asian. Once again, when it comes to presentation, the food was very simply and elegantly plated. I had the duck confit for the main and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, and two weeks later I'm still thinking about the dishes. The selection of wines were delish and also very reasonably priced.
Service was attentive and very personable as one of the owners Gan was serving that evening.
Overall, I had a great evening spent at Sole and Duck. The food was faultless, as was the service. We had three courses plus wine and a cocktail, and we were shocked at how reasonably priced it was!
