We went here for dinner after not getting in the other pubs in the area and wow what a bit of luck! This place was amazing! Very good beer, fantastic food (a tad expensive, but worth every penny) and all with great service. It was so good we booked to go for our second night and the quality was the same. Definitely coming back when we're next in Ravenglass. Can't recommend enough.

Review of pub/restaurant not the hotel. Staff friendly and welcoming. Limited menu but the food is excellent. Had two evening meals here..thoroughly enjoyed both. Good quality, well cooked and well presented Would highly recommend. And the extra plus is dog friendly.

We were booked on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway this afternoon and wanted to grab some food before our train so popped in here on a whim.

We got two starters (Duck Tostadas and Root Veg with Butterbean Hummus) and a portion of fries. The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The staff were friendly and welcoming too - we would definitely come back again if we were in the area!

Awesome food! We stopped for lunch by chance and what we found was amazing! Truly home cooked and varied menu. We had Bouillabasse and a chicken Shawarma. Both exceptional and both amongst the best ever eaten. Staff are friendly and welcoming, beer was good and sitting outside for a beer following lunch in the sun with views across the estuary was a treat!

Sometimes, when you arrive in a remote location, you may feel reduced expectations are in order. Not required here. I devoured both the seafood specials and enjoyed the busy convivial atmosphere, topped off with a stunning evening view from the table. Staff are lovely too.

A truly amazing dinner last night, we were staying nearby and managed to book a table. The atmosphere inside is wonderful, the staff were very friendly and professional, and the food was exceptional, the best meal we've had in years. It is a hidden gem, and we will definitely return. Do visit the pub, support the first class team that run it and enjoy superb food.

The most amazing food, honestly the best food I have had in a long time, can't reccomend it enough. The chowder had such depth of flavour and the haggis and Chicken was amazing. Booked again for new years day whilst we were eating. To top it off great beer and lovely staff

Don’t let the exterior decor put you off. This place has only been open about 6 weeks. The food here is absolutely top notch. The bouillabaisse was beautifully flavoured with perfectly cooked monkfish/seafood.
The quadruple cooked chips were worth every single penny. My husband really enjoyed the burger too.

Went for an impromptu meal, the Pennington having been fully booked. Have to say that we were lucky it was! The food and service at the inn was excellent. We tried the sausage roll as a starter and the seafood spaghetti for mains. Both were delicious beyond belief and portion sizes over generous so we tucked in. The bar staff were very friendly and attentive, this inn deserves your custom. There were a number of fine ales available the Hawkshead a favourite of mine was well kept in my opinion.

Delicious food, excellent beer. Very friendly, and excellent live music too! This is a beautiful traditional pub in a historic and atmospheric location on the estuary.

Stayed here two weeks ago and we were delighted to find that the friendly bar down stairs had Fyne Ales. The staff were lovely and the beer top notch. Clear and flavoursome and perfectly presented. A great well looked after cellar. A lovely cosy bar with friendly locals. Only regret we'd booked our meals at Pennington in advance and would have loved to try the menu here, maybe next time. Keep up the good work lads.

Very cozy pub with a view of the estuary, with incredible food, thought-out delicious vegan options (had the grilled cabbage on bean paste and lemon chili dressing starter, and the vegan cauliflower burger with baba ganouch and chips with very good paprika seasoning). The menu includes but mostly goes beyond the typical pub food and is priced normally, the burger cost the same as any other burger in any other pub/diner. The staff was really friendly and attentive.

Had a really great meal tonight.
A small but really good menu with everything cooked in-house which sets it well above other places serving bought in burgers etc. Plenty of local seafood on offer, all cooked impeccably, together with a great selection of draught beers and wines.
We'll definitely be back.
Please note that The Inn at Ravenglass is under new ownership so older reviews will no longer be accurate.

A group of 23 enjoyed a really excellent evening meal. The chef coped very well with such a large order. I had Bouillabase and I tasted the Chowder and both were excellent. The beer was in pristine condition. Keep it up chaps!
