Lovely site. Staff very friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers spotless. Plenty to do in the local area. Only down side was that there was a small group of travellers on site and they kept driving around the site in their cars. Even driving to the toilets, when it would of been faster to walk. One particular car must of driven past at least 15 times.

After a difficult journey the warden made us very welcome and lifted our spirits. The pitches are excellent, and the facilities were ample and never felt over busy.
It is near the M1 so traveling around was fairly easy.
There are some excellent places to visit fairly close including Hardwick Hall, and Bolsover castle.
I marked it down on location as the surrounding area felt somewhat run down.

Had a lovely walk around the lake, even watch about 2 dozen geese land on the lake. Certainly a photographer's ideal spot. The cafe had a varied selection of cakes, pasties etc., and a good cup of tea. Toilets were clean too. Always worth a visit.

Lovely site. Arrived at reception and promptly broke down right outside the parking area. Ian and his wife were so helpful. Can’t thank them enough for all the care and support they provided for us throughout our 3 night stay (which should have been 2 nights). Made for us what could have been a very stressful and upsetting time a whole lot easier while we were waiting for the AA to recover us back to S. Wales. Thank you very much Ian and your wife. We’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again.

Arrived at this lovely site mid afternoon, met at reception by Gail who explained all about the site. After setting up our Motorhome, Ian came to ensure that all was well. The site is well situated for exploring, my wife and I tend to use the bus service which was just down the road. Facilities were excellent. My wife found the washing up area flooded late one night and a quick phone call and Ian was there within minutes. Overall, a great time.

I took my dad to this site for a quiet weekend away who is disabled. The wardens were extremely helpful and I rate them 6 stars if I could. A real credit to the caravan and motor home club.

Immaculate surroundings and facilities, Lovely site a few miles from chesterfield.

Keep up the good work.

Nice walks around the ponds and walks through the surrounding area. Nice clean café supplying hot and cold savouries. A choice of teas and coffee with a good choice of cakes and pastries.

This together with public toilets which are kept clean and fresh. Not all public places offer these facilities.

All the above are good reasons to visit the park.

It's such a beautiful place on your door step, please look after it. Put litter in the bins and pick up dog poo, we don't want our children treading in it. All the wildlife there are so beautiful, take care of them. The cafe ladies are great and do a fab job, thank you ladies.

Had an enjoyable walk around the big lake which was full of bird life. There was many a friendly hello exchanged with similar minded walkers. It was however bit chilly but enjoyed a few minutes sat on one of the benches spaced along the pathway.

Although it's been open much longer than it looks this has all the appearances of being brand new. Very modern reception and toilet block and hardstanding pitches throughout make this a great destination throughout the year. Nearby are lots of places to visit, many of which engage the visitor with this areas industrial past: coal, iron and canals. It is a convenient stopping off point from the M1 but far enough away not to hear it. We'll worth a visit. Pools Brook is adjacent with lovely walks and a cafe.

Nice little park, main lake is almost exactly 1 mile around making it great for a measured distance run. The path around the main lake is well kept and almost perfectly flat apart from a short ramp up the small section that links to the pavement by the road. Plenty of parking for most times although is can get busy before 9am on Saturdays while park runs are happening.

Loved walking around the water and enjoying the views. Not been in the area since January 2020 because of the plague!
It's good to walk around if you find inclines difficult as it's level once you get to the water's edge from the nearby car park.

Lots of different trails to follow, the path around the lake is mostly flat so very good for people who can't walk too far, plus lots of benches to sit on. Great play area for the kids and a good cafe, even if a little small when it's raining and everyone wants to be inside.
