Yet another lovely evening at the new crown with friends. Nice meal and very good service especially from Lucy she’s an asset to the fabulous team.

The meal was very good, the BBQ chicken burger was really nice and I would recommend adding the onion rings and extra bacon. Makes the burger even better.
Service was really nice and our server Lucy was very helpful and friendly. Making sure that all our meals came out as closed together as possible.

We held a 70th here last weekend for my uncle. Everything was easy to arrange, Manageress kept checking in all night to make sure everything was going OK. Food was really nice, a lot of comments about the good selection. Everyone had a great night.

The New Crown is our local, go to pub, totally friendly staff, good atmosphere, decent food and always welcoming.
In particular Maggie is just always happy, funny and friendly, great customer service from her always.
Great to see and talk to most of our neighbours there, it's real community pub.

Weekend away in SANDHAVEN and after looking at all the resent reviews we booked a table for ten people.
On arrival table was not ready but soon sorted.
Drinks selection good and reasonably priced.
Food order taken and it wasn’t long before the food arrived, now this is where some stars were removed one steak was almost cremated (well done) the other was inedible, now this is not a reflection on the chef as you can only provide quality food if you have quality products.
A lot of comments about Lucy on recent posts yes she was attentive and bubbly and very polite but I feel the rest of the team are getting overlooked all were excellent and very attentive but Lucy did shine.
Highly recommend and worth a visit.

The New Crown was a great dog friendly pub with a family atmosphere.
Bowls of water and dog treats were freely available which our pug thoroughly enjoyed!
The food and service from Lucy was excellent, we would highly recommend a visit.

Came down with my good friends to visit the new crown, had a wonderful afternoon and really enjoyed ourselves. Meg, Lucie and Charlotte were wonderful. Prompt and proper pints! Can't wait to visit again.

Absolutely outstanding service from Lucy. Very kind and helpful. She made sure our experience was as the very best. Always has a smile on her face. Always a pleasure to come in and be served by her. A absolute credit to the team at the New Crown. Food was lovely and fresh.

Came in for drinks with family and friends today and was greeted by Callum who was friendly and welcoming on the floor. Great member of staff keep up the good work !

We held our daughters engagement party in the function suite from 5.30 -12.00, The room was all set up for us with tablecloths and chair covers and we were allowed access from opening to decorate the room with balloons etc. The staff were all amazing! Nothing was too much trouble and the bar staff worked really hard as we had approximately 100 people there at one time. They were friendly, efficient and polite at all times, providing a space for us to store presents and cards. We provided our own buffet because at the time of booking it wasn't an option to have this provided by the New Crown but again, the staff were so helpful with clearing up etc. The DJ was arranged for us and we were allowed to leave the presents overnight. Even the following day when we went back to collect our belongings the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, chatting with us about the party and telling us they had enjoyed working with us. I honestly could not recommend this venue enough! Mainly because of the fantastic hardworking staff and if I were ever to host another event The New Crown would definitely be my first choice. Well done to everyone involved, from us first viewing the room to being allowed to pop in to check on things to the actual night itself and the day after. First class service.

With a group of friends to celebrate Christmas. Most booked the festive menu. The staff were superb, especially Grace. The food was excellent as was the service. Such a pleasant evening. Thoroughly recommended.

I recently held my 70th birthday in the function room at the New Crown South Shields. I was given free reign to decorate the function room in a vintage Hollywood style and the staff gave me great support in this. The staff were absolutely amazing in helping me organise my party (Thank you to Meg and Caitlin).
