Went in for lunch and a couple of drinks with friends while on holiday. Firstly our waitress was so very pleasant, smiling and couldn't help us enough, even gave our dog a bowl of water and a couple of doggie treats. The food was excellent, very tasty, well presented and plentiful, even the small plate had more than enough on it to satisfy a hungry tummy. The cost of the dishes was very very reasonable too. Lastly the barmaid was jolly with a smile from ear to ear and it was a joy to be served by her. Overall I would highly recommend this establishment.

Called in advance for a party of 8 and dog. Was told they would have a bowl of water and biscuits ready for our arrival, and they delivered. Service from staff was above and beyond. Food was delicious and a fair price.
I cannot fault this establishment from start to finish... absolutely outstanding ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dropped in here for a drink a few days ago after hearing some locals talking about it. We were not disappointed. Staff were friendly, place was clean and airy plusprices as expected in this area.decided to have a meal, noticed between 2-5 pm they had the deal of 2 meals from the classic pub menu for £15. As older people we opted for this option as expected the meals to be smaller as on the deal. They were hot, tasty and my husband's pie, homemade steak, was full of meat, tender and tasty. He couldn't eat it all so we took half home and had it between us for our tea the next day. Amazing. My salmon was cooked nicely and served with asparagus my favourite. We don't recommend many places from our travels but we would recommend this pub. Go and fill your boots with lovely food, atmosphere and nice staff.

Recently renovated pub with 6 rooms, very comfy, good choice and standard of food, breakfast, understandably given the number of rooms, not a huge buffet, but more than adequate, and the cooked breakfast was excellent. Our room overlooked the main road, despite this no issues with noise/traffic etc. Recommended.

Visiting Hexham for a short stay. Did not know where to go for Sunday lunch. Happened upon the Coach and Horses.
The meal although delivered quickly (which is always a concern) was actually very good. We both had turkey. I don't like parsnips but these were cooked in such a unique way, they were actually pleasant. Waiting staff were also attentive and pleasant. I would recommend.

We stayed here on 28 September 2023 as we were house hunting the next day. We couldn’t have had a warmer welcome from Ian and the other staff on duty. Our room was very pleasant room and spotlessly clean. The room had a nice sized shower en-suite and it was a comfy stay. Friday’s breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay there again.

Took a while to be served, but only 2 staff on shift, and they were busy. Lovely staff, nice food and excellent service from them

Stayed here 29th of November 2023. Super friendly staff. Extremely helpful. Nice clean and comfy room. Comfortable bed. Excellent shower, super hot and great water pressure. Nice cold drinks and good food in the pub. Parking off-site, but relatively close by. Stop outside and drop your bags off first, then go and park.

Went in this afternoon for a quick snack, staff were very friendly and cheerful. Ordered a pint and half a lime & soda, along with their afternoon special. The food was very good and filling, we went for the tuna melt and pulled pork, along with mushroom soup and chips, both came with salad.
I think the only thing I didn't like was the salad came with a dressing on which wasn't for me, I would've preferred to have been asked if I wanted it on, but my other half ate it so it didn't go to waste.
Definitely recommend.

Really enjoyable, relaxing stay here for a couple of nights. Friendly Owner/ Manageress and staff. Stayed in room 4 of 6 recently refurbished rooms. Excellent breakfast and good selection of meals on lunch and evening menu , served till 8 pm. Rooms are decorated and furnished in a contemporary style and are spotlessly clean, as are public areas and the whole establishment.
We're already looking to visit again in a few months.
Thank you very much for a great stay.

We didn't stay at the hotel, we just ate in the restaurant.
There was 4 of us, we had a selection of the main courses, plus a starter. The ladies had a bottle of prosecco, we had a couple of pints.
In total, less than £82.
The food was excellent. Main courses were about £9.50-£10 each and there was plenty to eat. It was good quality and tasted lovely. Pub food can be bland, but this certainly wasn't.
Staff were very good, place was tidy and toilets were clean.
Overall a very positive experience.

Traditional pub, well priced pub food. Lovely staff on every occasion I've been, dog friendly too. Top marks for the clean and nicely done toilets too.
