Visited for Sunday lunch , so can’t comment on rooms but the service was absolutely wonderful. Staff were quick efficient and pleasant . The roast dinner was dinner was excellent. The veg were perfectly cooked for us and so were firm and brightly coloured and all served as a generous portion. We had deserts a good selection to choose from including, the all too rare these days, cheese and biscuits! Will definitely go back and enjoy this place again. Maybe I’ll try the daytime menu… and in the lovely outdoor area.

Quality has gone up an extra notch with the new team without having the silly prices as well. Staff very friendly and good value for money - altogether a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed, my grandaughter ordered chicken goujons and they were raw, they cooked another one but by then my grandaughter was a bit nervous about eating it, she is 8 years old and I can understand that, the chef came out and apologised in person, which I thought was a good gesture, but we still paid for that meal which I thought was out of order.

You don’t need to book you can just walk in
But I would advise to book on a Friday night or a Saturday evening if you are in the pub as it tends to get a bit busy then but that is the only minor thing
Also really dog friendly too
I didn’t book a room but I would think that it would be stunning considering the amazing service of the boat side inn crew and staff
Also very family friendly
Not for from Hexham if you live there

Called in for Sunday lunch at the end of a cycle ride, excellent beef dinner and a pint.
Service was really quick, ate outside in the nice beer garden.

Excellent pub for a nice lunch.
We turned up (16 of us) and got seated straight away.
Was already busy so slight delay with the food but not long at all.
Very impressed the kitchen came out to check if my 'no onion' request was by choice or an allergy. It's an allergy so I was really pleased they took the time to ask.
The food was lovely. My Mrs had the pork snitzel which was lovely. My cheese burger was great.
Table service meant the bar was easy to get to and from and the staff were great.
I have been to lots of pubs and reviewed a few and this us definitely in my top three.
I wish this was nearer my house (it 1hr and 45mins away).

Highly recommend the Boatside we popped in on the off chance we could get a Sunday roast, they fitted us in and also accommodated our dog too. Sunday dinner was very good.

Lovely food, fab prices and the festive menu sounds delicious. Good portions too. Staff were great; super polite, helpful and friendly big smiles all round. Would definitely recommend if your looking for a nice relaxing dining experience.

Called in for food on route home - so very pleased we did - large scampi and a beef bourguignon - was very very nice! Welcoming and friendly staff - would defo recommend and will visit again if we are passing

We arrived unbooked during peak Sunday lunch time. Tables were immediately moved to fit us in. The roast was wonderful and huge, good value at £14.50 per head. To big for my wife but a doggy bag was provided with no problem at all. We will definitely revisit frequently.

Lovely traditional country pub with the most delicious dinners, lots to choose from at a good price.

The staff were friendly and courteous and even better they smiled when they served me and my friend . Made our dinner even better.

We had just completed a walk to Walwick Grange and back and decided to pop in to eat. Sharing a starter of mackerel pate we got a very generous plate of delicious pate and crispy toasts plus salad. The main courses were again generous and delicious mixed grill and homemade fish pie plus side veg.

B&B in self-contained cottage rooms next to pub. Superb room. Very friendly owner and staff. Good selection of beers. Dinner menu and wine selection very good

We arrived on a busy hot Sunday with no bookings and managed to find a table quickly. As soon as we were sat the staff were over asking for our drinks order and if we needed menus. The food tasted great and arrived in good time.
