The County Hotel

Great traditional small hotel in the middle of Hexham. Room.was well appointed and warm, the bed was comfy if slightly small. High quality toiletries and immaculate shower room and linen. All staff were so friendly, couldn't be more helpful. There was large choice of cocktails and drinks and the food portions were well cooked and generous. We chanced upon this gem of a hotel and will definitely be back!

Hadn't been to the County in a while due to health reasons and was looking forward to a return visit. Since my last visit there are a few new faces behind the bar and restaurant. Each and everyone of the staff were very friendly and attentive. I will certainly be going back very soon.

Went for lunch . Lovely place , very clean , great food and a good price . Wonderful staff .

We stopped off for Lunch here and what a treat, staff were friendly and welcoming.
Efficient with drinks and taking order at the table, great food and an option to gear up for a desert for a couple of pounds.
All in all a defo call in again and some great night time deals that I am going to give a whirl.
Couldn't recommend more 10/10.

The County hotel is centrally located in Hexham and a great base for exploring Hadrian's Wall and Northumberland. The hotel has spacious, nicely decorated bedrooms, guest lounge, bar and restaurant. The hotel is very dog friendly, complete with dog welcome basket and breakfast. The staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. Great vegetarian and vegan options.

Just had a wonderful lunch, very tasty Korean chicken strips, and tender chicken main course. Very pleasant environment, music volume is just right and the service is excellent. Importantly it is very dog friendly. Haven't stayed here so i can't comment on the rooms but the bar is very clean and tidy. Thanks.

Only visited for food and drinks so can't comment on the rooms. The bar/restaurant had a good atmosphere and was very welcoming, as were the staff! As for the food, perfect, absolutely bang on and great value! I had the Calves Liver and it was cooked perfectly and very tasty! Everyone really enjoyed their meals!

Only called in for a meal during a visit to Hexham. Excellent service by outstanding staff. The meal was very good well presented reasonably priced. Altogether highly recommended.

Lovely food and friendly staff. The restaurant has been redecorated since I was last there and I'd looking great. Décor really suits the environment. The food is excellent and prices are really reasonable. Definitely be back and would recommend it to others

Came here for a few drinks. Very good selection of beers on offer. Well priced as well.

We visited the County twice and ate the same Lasagne both nights "Excellent" Highly recommended

Lovely meal last night. I had scallops and lamb, the boss had a Sunday dinner and youngest son had pasta. The scallops in particular were really food. Really good value too: I've paid twice as much for half as good

Great little Pub/Hotel with really good, reasonably priced food.

Stayed recently on a Sunday Stop Over dinner, bed and breakfast deal in a king size dog friendly room. Unbelievable value for money. Room spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Dinner service prompt and efficient, staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast very enjoyable. Thank you County Hotel for a great stay.

Lovely food and great service in a pleasant atmosphere.
Our second visit and both the food and service lives up to our first visit. Staff friendly and attentive but not ‘in your face’.
Some lovely food options including veggie, vegan and gluten free, all freshly cooked and served.
Didn’t stay over but if the car area is anything to go by, the rooms should be lovely.

We were spending three weeks holidaying in England and I didn't want to go home so we booked an overnight stay on our way back up to Scotland.
It was by far the best stay we had had in three weeks (we had stayed at 4 previous places). Everything was great from the moment we arrived. Very relaxing feel to the whole place. The room an bathroom were very clean and towels VERY fluffy! Had the Sunday Roast followed by a lovely desert the evening we stayed. The next morning breakfast was just as expected very tasty and fresh with a good selection. We will definitely be back as it's not too far from Glasgow for a few nights.

We had an excellent overnight stay here and delicious evening meal. The quality of the room far exceeded our expectations for a pub with rooms. We’ve stayed in far more expensive hotels with less going for them than the County! Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. All in all, excellent value for money.

Had lunch with friends. Very hospitable staff. Good food.
