Very generous portion neither of us could eat it all.
They prefer cash but we paid by card

Recommended by owner of local camp site (Monnow Bridge). Great service and super yummy starters and steaks. Only the one chap serving. He did a fantastic job as it was busy. Dog friendly too. 20% off bill on a Wednesday too. Winner winner !

Stopped here on a recommendation from a friend.
We weren't disappointed we had the The Blue Mooo Burger which was absolutely delicious, fresh burger patties brioche bun blue cheese perfect. I recommend the homemade onion rings too as they're made properly!
Service was great and couldn't be more accommodating!

Had the pleasure of eating lunch here and we were all wowed by how amazing it is. The lady in charge was fabulous, so friendly and welcoming. The menu was fantastic with a varied choice and all 5 of us plumped for burgers, 3 castle burgers, a blue mooo and a chicken and bacon. They were just simply delicious, every bit of each burger was gorgeous, the bacon was so thick and tasty, the burger was so meaty and all together it was marvellous . The chips were really good, homemade coleslaw creamy and beautiful and onion rings with the most devine batter making them so good. The food was plentiful and fabulous I just wish I could have eaten it all, I did try. We sensibly booked and looking round it was a good call, busy but still didn’t feel overcrowded, loved by locals too and it’s not surprising. Dog friendly too which is another tick, if you’re in Monmouth and you need to eat you have to try here, believe me you will not regret it and like us you’ll be looking forward to visiting again, thank you.

Family visit for Easter Sunday so booked a roast dinner at the Castle Inn as we have eaten there before but haven't tried their roasts. We were not disappointed! Delicious home cooked food, lots of veggies, extra gravy, the works. We were quite rowdy with two grandchildren, the waitresses were fantastic and made us all feel very welcome. Highly recommended!!! And very reasonably priced too. Thank you 😊

Had Sunday lunch here Today. I had the Brie starter and my wife had the parsnip soup as a starter. We were offered the Lamb , which was not on the menu as the main. My wife and I both had the Lamb.
The food was absolutely fabulous. Presentation, taste , portions fantastic. The lamb , melted in your mouth and the veggies were lovely and soft , with a big variety. Roast potatoes to perfection and the gravy just the right taste and consistency. Our waitress Adi was great and nothing was a problem. The only surprise to us is that dogs are allowed, which we didn’t notice before booking. The dogs that were there were very well behaved.

Visited Wednesday for the steak night - nice seat by the window. My wife upgraded to the sirloin and I had the standard rump. Bottle of wine went down well and so did the food. Managed to eat dessert as well. Couldn't fault it - good service and nice atmosphere. Thanks guys.

Absolutely excellent. Terrific food, cooked to perfection. I certainly didn’t leave hungry! I’d highly recommend visiting The Castle Inn if you’re in the Monmouth area. Great beer garden at the back too.really good atmosphere and well looked after by the staff who really do show that their customers matter to then. Thank you.

Lovely little pub. The food was very good but what made it especially great was the excellent service from the friendly bar staff. Absolute must if you're dining/drinking in Monmouth. I will be coming back the next time I'm passing through.

A really good meal, tasty and good quality, service was friendly and efficient. The cider was extra good too. Next time we visit Monmouth we will visit again.

What a great little find this was. Popped in hoping they could fit us in for Sunday lunch. The helpful chap found us a table for 2.30 which was perfect. All staff really helpful and Sunday roast was delicious. Special mention for the cauliflower cheese. ( the poor young lad behind the bar will know what I mean, he took some stick from another customer that had clearly got out the wrong side of bed. But handled it superbly) will see you again soon I hope. ❤

Had an amazing food and atmosphere experience tonight. Food was fabulous, staff awesome. We took my parents, not local, tonight and they loved everything about it ... dog friendly, great service and delicious food / wine / beers. Thank you all for your hard work

Can't rate this place highly enough. We were a group of 12 on a stag and this is quite a small pub, but they did a great job of accommodating us. The food didn't all come at the same time but everyone was glad that they prioritised making sure everything was top quality, which it absolutely was. Everyone was blown away by the quality of their meals. Super-friendly staff too. Would definitely come back here if i I'm in this area again.

Popped in for a Wagu burger and a couple of beers. Both were great as was the service. Place does prefer cash.
