What an amazing experience. Hannah was great in the office adapting our package experience to suit us, really quick at responding to questions and change of dates. Barbara and Naill and a lovely young lady from the reptile house made our day extra special they were all fabulous gave us plenty of information about the animals made sure our experience was not rushed. You could see the love and passion they had for handling, taking care of and feeding them. All the animals were very well looked after all of them had plenty of space and you could see the relationships between animal and trainers/keepers just Outstanding what a day. I would definitely recommend. Thank you for a fantastic time. They do a cute tote bag too.

My husband surprised me with a one on one experience with my favourite animal a sloth. She was absolutely beautiful and Barbara who was running the experience was so knowledgeable but more importantly she has such a passion and care for the animals making the experience even more enjoyable. Even at the first greeting upon arrival we met Harry who was friendly and warm.
Organised, calm and friendly the whole time we were there. Loved it. Thankyou guys :-)

Had an exclusive tour with my family today which must be booked in advance . Most amazing place with very knowledgeable staff. Great variety of animals, loads of time to ask questions and also feed penguins, tigers and zebras. Would highly recommend a visit if you are an animal lover it is an experience of a life time.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit today for an encounter with a sloth! The keepers were very friendly, knowledgable and you could tell that they had a genuine connection with the animals. I really liked that the experience wasn’t in a group so I didn’t feel overwhelmed which I imagine is equally as beneficial for the animals as well. I would definitely come back for another experience with a different animal🦥♥

What an amazing experience! From booking the voucher to setting up the day was amazing, Beowulf was absolutely stunning and such a gentle boy! Me and my partner both thoroughly enjoyed giving him belly rubs and I think he enjoyed them too. We can't wait to book another experience soon with them!

What a magical experience! Barbara (who was our guide today) is a credit to her profession. Her passion for the animal's shone through, and her knowledge was incredible.

We had the most amazing day. To be up close and personal with these beautiful creatures was a real privilege, and one I will never forget!

I went to Heythrop today to have the sloth experience after being bought it for my 50th. It was magical. Jersey, the young lady that supervised my visit was so friendly and knowledgeable and made the visit so relaxed, I did not feel rushed at all and was encouraged to give so much affection to Talita who is the most gorgeous creature I've ever met.. I have always been sloth crazy and today has just made my life.

This was our second visit to HZG, and can honestly say that from starting the process to book the visit (this is essential as it is not open to the public like a normal zoo), everything is so easy.

Hannah who does the arranging of the bookings is genuinely one of the lovliest people I have ever met; she is warm, friendly and professional with a terrific sense of humour and nothing is to much trouble, both visits have been as a surprise for my husband and Hannah passed this on to the staff supervising the experience.

Barbara who was the handler on our first visit and Niall on the second are both a mind of information about Talita the sloth, and have such a love and passion for all the animals they care for.

The experience you book is for YOU and anyone you choose to take with you so (unlike a lot of zoos) you are not in a group of twenty strangers or anything like that, you and your guest/s are the focus of attention throughout.
To get close to a sloth is one thing but to be able to hand feed one is amazing, and to say my husband was like a kid in a sweet shop is an understatement.

No, the experience is not cheap, but what is these days? But the experience is about the animal and you, the money goes back into the welfare of the animals and as far as I am concerned it is worth every penny and I am looking at dates now for turn for an experience and cannot wait to visit the zoo, the animals and the staff again. Thank you all for an amazing time.

Birthday treat for my daughters birthday.We did the sloth encounter which was magical.Jersey the handler was so passionate and informative.For my daughter to get so close to her favourite animal was one of her dreams of a lifetime.Highly recommend

Amazing!!!
My partner surprised me completely with a visit to heythrop to feed and pet the penguins. Not only was it adorable but it was also so educational. We spent almost half an hour feeding the penguins and then we got to pet and stroke the fabulous Groot (a female penguin).

We had such a a fab time and the handler (I want to say Barbara?) was amazing as well and really let us take our time and taught us so much. Would love to visit again!!

Had an amazing time meeting the sloth for my boyfriend's birthday! We met Babara who told us all about the zoo and the Sloth, she was very friendly and interesting, really made the day that extra bit special! Even the booking experience was great, highly recommend booking an experience here!

Booked the Pygmy Hippo experience for me and my partner to do for his birthday. Hannah was brilliant throughout the booking process. The handler Aaron was super friendly and knowledgable and went out of his way to get some amazing pictures for us. Cori the hippo was super cute and warmed to us as we were feeding her which meant we were able to stroke her and give her bum and scratch. Would recommend this experience to anyone! Can’t wait to book our next one!

Absolutely Incredible. Our guide/ zoologist was so lovely, kind and informative. It was just incredible to get the animals all to ourselves and get up close and personal. Wonderful experience.

We had an incredible experience meeting Talita the two toed sloth. Staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Well worth the money and we can't wait to go back to see some of the other animals.

Really enjoyed our visit to see the Zebras, amazing experience feeding, stroking and grooming them. Stunning animals and you can tell they are very well looked after and cared for by the staff. Would highly recommend a visit and we will be back next time we are in the area.

This place is incredible! Aaron is so entertaining and knowledgeable, the animals are fascinating and clearly receive the highest levels of care. We’ll be back!

I love hippos, they are my favourite. Getting to feed and stroke one was just amazing. Great knowledgeable friendly staff. I have already recommended all my friends to go. I will be back.

Very clean private collection, my wife fed the tigers, only saw a few other animals on the way in. The tigers were the cleanest best looking ones I've ever seen in captivity and they were born there. Very professional system they have in place.

Absolutely amazing experience. I have no doubt the animals are extremely well cared for. Highest level of care I’ve seen in captivity, best place for the animals to be when they’re unable to be reintroduced into the wild. Our guide was amazing, we had a sloth encounter, she was very enthusiastic, and genuinely ADORED the animals. I’d absolutely visit again, next time I want to encounter all of the animals!

Fantastic experience. Barbara was friendly and informative and took us to see Talita the sloth. We had a great time stroking and feeding Talita and took loads of photos. All our questions were answered and we had a thoroughly memorable morning! A very special gift to mark our 3yr anniversary/early xmas present.
