Coffee on the Square

A very friendly and welcoming place. We had two large and damp dogs and they were made welcome inside. There was a great selection of drinks and cakes and well as a savoury menu.
I would definitely recommend. It was worth the wait for them to open at 11.00

Excellent visit here. Warm welcome for the dogs - the front half of the café is dog friendly. Pastries were warm and very really nice. The dog biscuits were good too. I didn't try them, but I think I'm quite good at reading dogs' minds.

Needed a cup of tea and coffee. Looked a nice cake selection but had just had lunch! Definitely one to go back to. Loved the little shortbreads that came with our drinks

Found this little cafe on holiday when looking for a local cream tea. The lady working was friendly and the service was quick. The scones for my cream tea were huge and light. The others had lemon drizzle cakes and chocolate brownies, which I'm told were delicious. And the kids had old-style milkshakes. Just a lovely little cafe.

If you are Vegan/veggie this place is a must!! Super friendly staff, lovely vibe!

This understated frontage hides a gem of a cafe serving freshly cooked breakfast options done to your liking. Friendly staff looked after us. Fair prices for the area keeping it busy with locals too. Kept going back. Thanks to team here.

Great coffee shop, went there twice for breakfast when camping nearby.
Healthy proportions, locally sourced food.
Favourite was the hot chocolate and looking forward to the cake I got to go.

Enjoyed a lovely ploughman's lunch. Staff pleasant and polite as far as I could tell there were only 2 staff working. One front of house and the other in the kitchen. I was seated near the kitchen and everything that came out of there looked very nice. If your close to Bideford, Hartland Quay etc a visit is a must

Had a lovely full English breakfast here. Food was cooked to perfection and portion size was generous. Very friendly staff and quick service. Dog friendly too. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options available

New to the area we arrived early for a collection from GP surgery so popped in here for a coffee. A warm, clean and cosy cafe and great coffee served to us by a lovely friendly lady who made us feel very welcome. We purchased bread pudding and coffee and walnut cake to take home which were both delicious. Will definitely be visiting again

Lovely place for a good breakfast! Food was terrific and the staff are so friendly.
Another plus is that dogs are welcome, so it’s perfect after a long walk.

Huge Scones! We had cream tea here twice and both times the food was very good. Had a Bakewell tart and a gluten free flap jack to go for our walk by the sea.

Great breakfast and gorgeous coffee, lovely friendly polite staff. Dog friendly too with free dog biscuits for good dogs. Great place, what more can I say. :)

An unexpected gem. Home made cakes and food to die for, great drinks to be had and all provided with awesome service.

So nice, at Hartland. Always come by when we are visiting Hartland Quay nearby.

Had a great brunch here, served by friendly staff. Couldn't tip by card which was a shame - would like to see that facility introduced since the staff deserved it.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch during our walk and we're really impressed by the quality of food!

I had the tomato soup which was served with the freshest most delicious bread. My husband had the jacket potato and homemade chilly which was sooo flavoursome.

Of course, with a 7 mile walk ahead of us, we had to take some cake to go. The cake was so delicious, we went back the next day to take some home with us.

If you're in Hartland, you must stop here.

This is an excellent café with a wide choice of items to eat and drink.

My first visit after the grand reopening. Great to see familiar faces, the cafe really hasn't lost its friendly feel. We only popped in for coffee and we certainly was not disappointed. Great service and great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.
