Hygeia Dental Care

Two and a half years ago I registered with Hygeia Dental Care and requested a replacement full-denture. Necessarily taking several weeks to gradually perfect and complete, the new dentures are a revolution for me. From the beginning and through the whole involved and detailed process, I've received meticulous care at every stage. I would say that attentiveness and courtesy are the hallmark of this practice.

After six decades of being terrified of going to a dentist at last I have found the most caring dentist in Jo.
Her team are warm, caring, efficient and from day 1, they all have made what used to be a dreaded event, dare I say to now a pleasant experience! Yes, I now look forward to going to the dentist.
Jo is clearly a first class professional who takes her time to explain the necessary procedures and has wonderful interpersonal skills which has put me at ease throughout.
If you are nervous of going to a dentist, worry no more and go to Hygeia.

Having moved to South Devon from North London the first time I telephoned Hygeia to arrange a check up, the receptionist was most professional, I knew I was going to be treated well. When I arrived for the appointment I was pleased to find the Practice had its own car park. On entering I was pleased to find a comfortable air conditioned reception area. I was dealt with in a friendly and professional manner throughout my time there. The treatment I required was clearly explained to me with the options and estimates. Well done Hygeia.

When I first visited Hygeia Dental Care, initially for a broken front tooth, nearly 4 years ago, I didn't realise just how bad my teeth were overall.

During that time, Jo and Debbie have completely transformed my teeth beyond recognition. I can smile again! My self confidence has returned!

I no longer have feelings of fear/dread about a dental/hygiene appointment. In fact, I look forward to every visit. There's always a warm welcome from Louise the receptionist, coffee, tea and hot chocolate to enjoy while listening to classical music in the background. It really doesn't feel like a visit to a dental surgery, more like visiting a friend for a chat!

I am truly fortunate to have found Hygeia Dental Practice. Deep rooted fear of dentists had prevented me from visiting a dentist for years. The warm greeting from Louise, the receptionist, inspired me to express my fears an ask for help. My 1st appointment has confirmed and reassured me that I made the right choice. Jo, the wonderful dentist and her nurse, greeted me with kindness, understanding, enthusiasm and professionalism, This has truly been the best decision I could have made and I am the happiest I have felt in years. All thanks to Jo and her staff at Hygeia. I would recommend this practice very highly.

Hygeia is about the expertise and care of its staff - who are brilliant at what they do. They are very skilled and up to date. I do believe that Jo - and the whole team - really try to deliver an excellent service - and succeed. Everyone is treated as an individual - with great care and respect. We could all live a long time - taking care of our teeth and gums is worth the money - and Louise is a whizz in helping with claiming from the dental insurance (defo a good deal). Friendly atmosphere, everyone makes you feel relaxed and that's not easy when you go to the dentist! Jo, Debbie and Louise are all very professional but at the same time make you feel more than just a client They even check you after you've had any work done by phoning the next day..They show an interest in you as a person. If you need a dentist this is the best place to go.

I am convinced there is no better dental practice in the South West! My children and myself have been attending Hygeia Dental Care - since the last century! Both children reached adulthood with great teeth.
Hygeia is a great practice on many levels
a) The whole team are consummate professionals and highly adept in their roles. Yet there is an air of sensitivity and kindness in the practice, such that patients feel relaxed and cared for.
b) Dr Giddy is very skilled and has the best kit. I love her camera, it shows me what needs to be done and my lovely teeth afterwards. Best of all, I am a nervous patient but Dr Giddy takes heed of all my eccentricities and I trust her to take care of my teeth and appreciate her thoughtful advice.

I've been petrified of the dentist of years after a horrible experience with my old dentist! I found Jo and Hygeia about 6 years ago and they have been amazing you feel like every visit is so personal and I'm finally getting over my fear! Great service and love that Jo calls to check you are ok after any major work! Highly recommend!

I have been a patient of Dr. Giddy at Hygeia since she came to Totnes and have been quite a handful, with a number of problems which occur as we get older! I have found her a wonderful, patient, friendly and confidence building dentist with very efficient and welcoming people around her. I would recommend the practice wholeheartedly.

We have been with Jo for several years now. At every visit she is so welcoming, reassuring and professional. She provides and excellent service and it has always been pain free! She also looks after my two small children kindly and patiently and they love coming to see her. Can not recommend her enough!

I had put off going to see a dentist for too long and was very nervous, but Jo and Debbie helped me relax and not feel embarrassed about my teeth. I was treated with great kindness and would definitely recommend Hygeia to friends and family.

I've never experienced a more welcoming, thoughtful, kind, "human natured” dental practice. They even have a cat who supports you in the waiting room before your session, while you enjoy a cup of complimentary coffee. 100% would recommend!
